i hope someone can help me!!! I have a creaking noise in rear after driving..i can pull into my drive way (slight elevated) and it sounds almost like a body creak... noise is very loud..i also notice this when i accelarate or at slow speeds like going through parking lots... i have replaced rear diif mount.. noise is not present when body is cold... i hope some one can help.. i can also produce this noise by pressing down on rear bumper.. these ugly bumpers are good for something... 78 280z

can this be added and still use lower mount as well... i guess what i am trying to say is can i use both.. just wanting to get away from strap...thanks

thanks for the info..sounds like a ferrari i guess know..may try larger pipe.i noticed today pipe comimg from manifold was 2 1/2 down pipe then 2inch back to muffler then muffler is 2 1/4.. so i have three differnt sizes.. does this affect performance in anyway?

i have heard others with magnaflow and they sound great.. muffler is straight through like a glass pack..i was mainy curious about my pipe diameter and or manifold..

Need some help.. i just had a muffler shop install a magnaflow muffler today... i was hoping for more noise..not so.. i currently have straight pipe with no cat or resonator... pipe is 2in and mufffler is 2 1/4 inlet and 2 1/4 outlet... with slight turn down tip..:stupid: ( stock manifold) 78 280 5speed:

i have a noise in rear that sounds like sway bar bushings.. thisonly happen when clutch is engaged slowly rolling through parking lot.. press in clutch and noise goes away. just sounds like rubber against metal squeak.. i looked under the car today and noticed the diff raised slightly off the curved part of the diff mount.. here is a pic of how much daylight i can see through.. mount seems to be tight as per placing jack under.. please help !!! 78 280z

more than likely a valve sticking. this happen to me and i let it go to long.. the valve finally kissed the piston,, so make sure this is not your problem before you drive very much,,, ps you cannot tell this my adusting valves.. hope this helps

I took my cyl head to the machine shop today.. was wondering while head is off is there anything i can do to get more horse power? just from cyl head?

thanks.. i counted on 4 to 500...anything i can do to give more performance... just to the head?

update..i removed valve cover and found #2 valve was loose enough to move side to side..going to remove head tomoorow.. im thinking valve guide..any suggestions on rebuilding head or buying a rebuilt head? thanks.. and any one know the cost?

thanks for the advice...will keep trying..removed one plug and found alot of carbon residue left over. thinking of running gas through the intake using vacumn hose.. any suggestions?

I think it was a piece of carbon..#2 cyl is fine now but i still have the rough idle.. i think i really screwed up by spraying the seafoam in the air flow meter...???

So i may have carbon in cyl or wedged in valve? Was running fine until i used sea foam... Thanks

I used sea foam today.. Engine now run rough..i removed 1 sparkplug wire at at a time. Engine should mis when each wire is removed but when i remove the #2 plugwire the engine speeds up.. Sounds like i have a small knock or rattle in engine on decelaration .. Please help i sprayed the seam foam in a fine mist with small paint gun into intake..

I have a 78 280... I have one valve that really ticks loud..i have located the tick from #1 cyl exhaust...i have adjusted valve twice.. Once hot and once cold..still ticks..how do i check to see if enough oil is getting to this rocker? And does the oil lube through the cam? Thanks for any help..

replaced with poly..where can i get the oem..
