Towing
I would like to know if i can tow my z behind my rv using a tow dolly with my 280's rear wheel on the ground? it is a 5speed.. just wandering if it would do any damage to the trans, diff or etc...

Thanks alot.. Great webpage.. What the heck.. I will replace the left side now,,,, if i have to take the axle out to check i just go ahead and replace the joints, if needed or not..thanks again....

I have a vibration in my 78 z.. this only happens 50 mph and above.. vibration is definitley in rear. vibration dissapears when i push in clutch or take out og gear i have replaced main driive shaft and right u joints.. also new diff mount. MY QUESTION IS THIS........ WHEN DOES THE LEFT REAR AXLE START TO ENGAGE? I KNOW THE RIGHT DOES THE MOST WORK..:stupid: JUST CURIOUS NOW WETHER OR NOT TO REPLACE UJOINTS OR AXLES?? THANKS FOR ANY HELP... O BY THE WAY JUST ONE 2ND PLACE AT Z ATTACK IN NASHVILLE TN..

Where is the heater control valve? hot air blows from defrost or vents even when selector is set to cold.. please help..:stupid:?

Cold weather performance?
I have noticed that my 78 280z seems to have more power while driving in cold tempatures even when engine is at operating tempature...what causes this and is there any way to duplicate this in warmer tempatures???

Thanks for all the replies.... guess ill keep them for a while til i see something i like better... I am with arn and blake on the "square wheels"... the only other wheel i like as far as stock would be the wheels blake now has..there is a set of bwa'a that came with my car that i still have and will probaly keep... i know they are not factory but very odd,,,

pipe size?
i am taking my z to have the exhaust replaced tommorrow... the installer said the stock replacement was a 2in pipe.. it currently has 2.5in .. can anyone tell me stock size?

It seems i have developed a vibration in 4th and 5th gear but only after driving 20 miles or so... could a u joint cause this? the vibration is slight..any suggestions?

Thanks arne... Mine has a nice sound now... Do you this type will have a nice sound? I do not want a quiet muffler..

I would like to find the vendor of this muffler..can anyone tell me who offers this? My 280 still has the original exhaust..exhaust pipe and muffler looks to low on mine..thanks for any help.........

maybe a stupid question,,brake pads
just wanted to let yall know i had to remove the calipers to press pistons back.. i "did" pry on the pads and it seem to have put the pistons in a bind.. pistons would not go back until i used a c clamp... .. i think i may have mis understood blake.. thank you both for your help..

thanks blake... how do you depress the calipers for the new pads.. with out calipers off? no way to use c clamp?
