That's a steal for a first 1000 car if it's in really good condition!

Just had the 'development and evolution' talk with Les Cannaday the other day. It seems like most race cars change... Thanks for the link! Quite a racing culture and history in Florida...

You're right. At least the paint is different.

Anyone near Duluth?
I grew up in Minnesota and my Z spent about 15 years there. Every October it went in to a heated storage barn and every March, right after the State High School Basketball tournament it came out. That is pretty common among sports car people there. You will not find any rust on mine. Do your do-diligence but just because it's in Minnesota doesn't mean a thing...

Oh, I couldn't agree more! I own Grand Prix and LeMans with McQueen. It isn't that McQueen would have been a bad choice, but if you watch the film and have the heart of a race car driver, you know Garner really nailed it. You should write a book Steve. Your experiences behind the camera have always amazed me...

I grew up and drove Z's in Minnesota. Believe me, they just haven't gotten to you yet. I think I was pulled over 10 times in my Z...

I bought an '84 new. Like the Idaho Kid said, all RPM no torque. Good car. I could drive the snot out of it on the track and autocross course. About equal to my Z of the time and if I recall correctly, in the same class. The design looks a little dated now to me, although I thought it was sexy as hell when I bought it. I had a GSL-SE with the rear discs and no sunroof. I think it ended up a Spec-7 car...

Northern California Weber (maybe Mikuni) tuning day anyone?
I'm getting pretty excited about the new developments Keith Franck has made in redesigning the tubes and jetting for the side-draft. It is apparently so good he is planning on patenting the design. So good, he can no longer publish the White Paper he had been just about to publish... So much progress it outdated everything he had to say! Carb Clinic will be fun this year!

240z stock brake caliper pistons
Replating will not work unless you can figure a way to deal with the pits the rust left in the metal. Check the bores too. Rust could have pitted these as well. Rock Auto is a source but I just saw one single piston on eBay the other day.

CAI for triple Mikunis
Steve, You could put an internal baffle in to 'slant' the thing front to back to gain the Bernoulli effect. That is the reason the TWM model slants front to back, it speeds up the air to the rear. Also I agree with Leon, no good reason to shorten the air horns.
