It seems like I have my Master vac problem solved. I found one on EBay and Terrapin found one for me at a Pick and Pull. I'll send both to Power Brake Rebuilder and hopefully get one good one out of it. I have to wait to start putting the brake lines in as the master cylinder is the starting point. I'm so impatient!

Another piece of the puzzle arrived... BTW Yarb, I had already ordered this before you posted the above. Kind of weird though, I got it from Silvermine Motors and it came with no invoice for the actual transaction but there were two garbage invoices along with other garbage used to pack the MC in the box.

Did a couple stops yesterday. I went to AutoZone and O'Reilly's. Both list the 79-81 online but neither can get it according to their counter staff. Motorsports Auto lists it and doesn't say it isn't available but they want a $300 core and I don't have one to send, though I can get a very rusty one on ebay for $60 shipped. Yarb, are you getting 'considerable' assist? Something you notice?

Thanks Yarb, I hear though that it isn't actually a 'bolt up' and I'm already building adapters and such so I think I'll just rebuild mine... Unless you have information that is contrary to that???

Well in the 'nothing can be too easy on this car' column, I contacted Power Brake Exchange to buy a 79-81 power brake booster and they don't have one even though their website says they have one in both locations. Dude was apologetic but says "our website hasn't been right in a decade or so." I put a WTB on Facebook Datsun Parts and Needs but if you have one, let me know!

Thanks @duffymahoney. Though now I’ll have to find a distributor for parts. I definitely can’t butcher a Datsun Comp/Euro distributor for parts!

Thanks @duffymahoney, That is what I will do. I'm assuming they modify the stock shaft and remove the Jeep shaft? My distributor is a Datsun Competition / Euro one so I don't want to lose it! Maybe sell to someone who wants old school I suppose...

Got the 2004 Jeep Wrangler CAS in the mail yesterday. Now, I need a good description of how to modify it. Links?

Now that the engine compartment refinish is complete, I wanted to start reassembling. I managed to order a stainless brake line kit for the entire car but I was on hold for 27 minutes at Power Brake Supply trying to get a rebuilt ZX booster. I also found three different prices for the Wilwood master cylinder so I put that on hold while I figure the best place to buy it. Hopefully, when I finally get hold of Power Brake Supply, they don't have a problem with using a 240Z booster as a core. At any rate, it's only a $40 core so...

Well, you’ve seen the manifold. I’ve got too much into it to risk something that might work, plus it’s not my style...

I'll have to ask him. He says it's an $18K program and that it costs monthly so you can get support and upgrades? It speaks directly to CAD machines. A buddy of mine works for SpaceX in the Bay Area and he thinks he can get it done for me. On a side note, you can shade tree this. You buy aluminum threaded rod from McMaster Carr, then you TIG it from the manifold back side where the threaded holes come through and then face the manifold mounting surface. Redrill it in the desired bolt pattern and you are golden. I'm told...

Not exactly. I have the file but unless you have the program it was made in, you can't see it. I think I have the problem solved though...

Is it possible to scream in exasperation on here? It's very frustrating. I want to use this supposedly 350Z eThrottle body. It is 75mm at the inlet side and 70mm at the outlet side. The 75mm inlet measure is what makes me wonder if it is really a 350Z TB. If you go to YouTube, all of the videos on the throttle body are about upgrading to the 75mm throttle body. I'm guessing, either I have something other than a 350Z throttle body or the stated size refers to the engine side of the throttle body. Anyway, the problem is, I intend to use the stock '75 intake manifold and I need to figure a way to mount it. All of the machine shops I have talked to (3) don't want to bother with a job this small. Bummer!

Mine must not be a turbo block then. I don't have that.

I have an F54 block. Anyone know where the knock sensor went? I’m thinking I might be able to hook up a modern knock sensor to the Haltech ecu.

So, a bit of finishing touches on the intake today. This is a 3M heat reflecting tape that I'm hoping will keep the header heat out of the intake. I will also wrap the headers down to the collector. Anyone have one of the factory heat shields for the brake aperatus that bolts to the bottom of the heat shield? I might as I have had a couple 280Z cars over the years as well but I'm no where near my parts garage...
