Rear Wheel Cylinder Availability
Well as it turns out my cars pulling to the left really hard was probably not due to my front brakes at all. It seems my passenger wheel cylinder is almost completely seized. I had replaced the drivers side back in 2011. But at the time the passenger side was responding well. Well no longer. Just a note though. I called Courtesy Nissan and they said they had over 40 wheel cyilinders in stock for 240Z's. so if you wanted an OEM part, they have them.

Dual webber upgrade
I would agree with Blue here. The triple weber conversion may seem intimidating, but it is a great project to tackle that will yeild good results. The forums here have many a great educational links for the Weber conversion, and they are getting better every day. I would also strongly suggest getting some round tops from Ztherapy and just leaving everything else stock. Functional round top SU's are WONDERFUL carbs.

She's back on the road!
Awesome, nothing like that feeling huh? I wish you luck with your ignition issue. If you should need any brand new fancy spark plug wires, I have 4 or 5 sets laying around!

Brake restoration, thanks conedodger
That houston Z event is going to be a great one! I wish I could come, but my wife is in mandatory bed rest and is 2 cm dilated and we are expecting my 2nd baby boy any day now. I cannot travel far from the house, but believe me when I say my Z is shaking with anxiousness wanting to go blast around corpus. The weather is going to be STUNNINGLY good. I am not even sure when I will get a chance to install these beauties. But I better do it quickly as in before the little one comes.

Frame Reinforcement Upgrades?
If you are going to do any racing beyond a hobby, meaning something with a rule book, then keep the book with you, read it, read it again, memorize it, sleep with it, and then build the car to those specs. Autocross, and touring car racing have extremely focused groups. Build the car to fit one of those classes and stick to it. If you want to dabble in both with the same car, then you need to do twice as much reading. Build a car that can adheres to the strictest requirements and then you may be okay with other forms of racing, but at times, tires, sway bar sizes, roll cages, all can bump you into an entirely different class. Autoracing is usually not a one car fits all type of thing. I would suggest you narrow your focus to what you REALLY will actually be doing and then build accordingly. Right now It sounds like you are more of a hobbyist who wants to try a bit of everything for fun, which then build the safest car you can and have at it. But building a car without a clear focus on what it will be used for almost ensures you will build the wrong car and spend too much.

Brake restoration, thanks conedodger
www.pmbperformance.com That was the site that conedodger told us about. I sent off my old painted brake calipers after the rally when they began to pull hard to the left each time I hit the pedal. Eric @ pmb performance took them apart and rebuilt, polished, and then restored them to factory new. He even put the brake pads I wanted in them (porterfields I believe), and the return service as outstanding, as was the communication. I had both pistons badly pitted and one was sticking in the bore. I am more than pleased with the results... here is what I sent him... Here is what came back... Standing ovation for this company as far as I an concerned. I can rebuild calipers, but this is worlds beyond what I can do...VERY nice job

barrett jackson
I get what Barris has done for the community, but the dollar figure is just crazy. Still if somebody paid it, then it was worth that to that person. But good luck every making a profit. The older that car gets, the less and less of that generation will care. The car is not that exceptional from an engineering point of view, and as nostalgia will only go so far. It will end up in a museum one day, probably donated for a tax break.

Datsun Dealership
Do you have any headlight covers ? I would be the first to send you cash. Would you have any new consoles or dashes?

first Gen Rx7
Well I just keep liking the lines and the simplicity of it all. It reminds me of what the 240 may have been like if it had never grown up. I have never owned a rotary, so this car is just always on my mind.

first Gen Rx7
I was playing with my son this rainy afternoon and he picked up his latest hot wheel that I found him. A first gen RX7 with a LeMan Body kit in blue. Just a beautiful car from any possible angle. Has that great quirky silky rotary. I was wondering if any of you ZED heads have ever owned a first GEN RX7 and what are you thoughts. The oldest one is some 8 years newer than my car. Just curious. Not seriously thinking of selling the Zed, but I am thinking a first Gen RX7 would be a very fun first car for my oldest boy.

Another 1972 240Z for sale - West Point, AL
I can verify that is the AC controls for the dealer installed AC unit. My 71 had that, and I quickly removed it once the 1000 lb york compressor gave up the ghost.

Gonna Buy a New Car
FYI, you can defeat all the nannies in 30 minutes now. The ESC code that the rest of the world gets is now available with nothing but a slight VAGCOM change. It is on the APR website and give us US customers full sport and off modes to the electronic nannies. Can't help you with the hatchback comments. I love hot hatches.

Gonna Buy a New Car
I just went through all of this. While my choices are not as diverse are yours, my requirements were FUN, Four doors, Manual transmission, and NOT FWD. I am a die hard Subaru guy. But the lack of interior refinement offered in the 2013 models did not agree with me. And when the refinement was there, (legacy models) a respectiable GT with a manual was not available. Enter the golf R. This is probably the best all around DD I have ever had. Refinement, finishes, comfort, sportiness, handling, braking, power (and a lot more avaiable), slick 6 speed, etc. Such a great car. PM if you have any questions.

2 completely different cars
Well wasn't the 240Z the quickest Z until much much later. The added weight was not made up for with HP fast enough. I use to have a chart that showed this. I thought the 240Z was the fastest Normally aspirated Z until the 1990 300ZX. However, I think all the turbo Z's were quicker than the original 240Z
