Lots of looks, but not many bids on my 71.
Alas, a large portion of the car buying public, like the rest of the public has the education of a snail.

Center Valance with captive nuts
Okay, I feel better about proceding with ripping off my old spoiler and bumper. Now anybody know what size those nut plates are on the center valance? I may as well use them if I can.

Center Valance with captive nuts
I recently picked up a center valance in great shape from bad dog parts to complete my spook conversion. I have the center valance, the left and right valances, and the MSA spook back from paint and I am very happy with the quality of work. I am gearing up to take off the front bumper, but I have been reading that the front valance with the captive nut plates is a rare part and may or may not fit my car? 26th-Z has been a great help on this, and he has educated me on the history of this part and the matching the corner valances that goes along with it. My corner valances do not have the captive nuts installed. Do I have a collection of parts that will not match up? I will post pictures up later tonight, but there is some pics of the center valance posted by 26th-Z below

Datsuns 240 zx 1971
I think you are going to be able to find a car, but the challenge will be getting it to you. I would try EBAY on line. It will give you access to hundreds of cars. I wish you luck. One day I hope to travel to see your country.

MSA spook pictures
By the way George, I was going to go that route as well. I was going to get a BRE done in clear vinyl, and put it on, so its not obvious, but in the right light you see it. Sort of like ghost flames. We will see. I have to mount the darn thing first.

MSA spook pictures
THe parts are still on my workbench. I had some yard duty, but the first full day I get off, these bits are going on. I just need an extra set of hands to help out. Removing that front bumper is going to be tricky alone.

Spook mounting
I was thinking of doing the same thing. Can you pick up that sealer at the local auto parts store?

tips or tricks to removing the front bumper and lower valances
I will be taking off the front bumper this weekend to get better access to my lower air dam so I can get ready to install my lower valance panels. Is there a trick to removing the front bumper? Should I have two people there? There seems to be the 2 large bolts on each side that hold the bumper supports to the front end of the car, and then a few smaller bolts on the sides under the headlight bezels. Any advice would be appreciated.

Front end 'spook' options..
DOH, that is a really good idea...I have not got that far yet.. I was sort of just assuming it would all fit... Body work pro, I am not. Great advice Arne.

mustache bar bushing removal questions
Hey Zs-ondabrain, When you went with Urethane, did you notice more gear whine from your diff? Ever since I switched to urethane on my mustache bar, the gear whine is more noticeable. Or my diff just happened to start making this noise right after the install.

Just a side note, I have three build 240Z's in Forza and love how it sounds, so kudos to you!

Japanese Fairlady Z
That was the sound and look I was going for with my ANSA. In fact it was this video that inspired me to buy it... 1971 240Z with vintage ANSA dual tip muffler insta

My Z Build
hard to say. Just by looking at it, I would not put any stock in that comparison. But can you bounce the car. The old bounce trick will tell you something. Get it bouncing and then stop, and it should stop immediately. If it does, then the shocks still have some damping left in them.

Houston Texas, SRBIGBUTT, we should get together and have lunch or something.. where in Houston are you?

73 240Z on Passtime
Agreed on pinks all out. Pinks just annoys me as well. The best liar wins that one. I miss rally so very badly. I cant stand the host on passtime. He just gets under my skin for some reason.

73 240Z on Passtime
Agreed, but I have to interject.. isnt that the worst show ever on speed. As if NASCAR was not bad enough, and unique whips, now passtime? Man, how the mighty have fallen.
