  1. I bought mine from Orielly Auto Parts. It was only $15. I needed it right away and couldn't wait to order it.
  2. This sounds a lot like what my slave was doing as well. I bled it and it was ok for a while. Until reverse started grinding again and then I all of a sudden all my clutch fluid leaked out the slave. Replaced it and its been great so far.

I didn't have a shift boot, let alone any clips, when I got my car. I then ordered one from MSA and installed it using small binder clips from Office Depot. Worked very well. I just removed the metal clips after I squezed them on.

Can't wait to see pictures of this Z. Should be awesome. Here is a link to a video that was posted on Hyrbridz that will make some purist Z owners feel better and wizz off the American Muscle Car Purists!! http://videos.streetfire.net/video/E...The_175697.htm Just a couple other comments regarding this thread. I've always found it strange that some people are negative to either keeping your Z stock or modifying your Z. I find myself having to think about what forum to ask my questions in, because I don't want to get ignored or told to post in another forum. Its my Z and I can do whatever I want to it. Just like anybody else can do what they want. As long as they are happy. Also since I work for Toyota and live in the US...I'm confused!! Should I move to Japan and build Fords but buy Nissans?? PS...Buy Toyota!!!!!
  5. Here is the best pic I could find of mine. Its just an MSA Walnut shift knob with Black Z emblem.

Hmm..cut off wheel! I need to get me one of those, but then I would need a compressor! Damn it sucks not having all the tools i need. I will probably go to my brothers house and use his! haha. Also may just buy a dremel tool. Just been putting that off and could have used it hundreds of times already. I think both flat spoke and curve spoke look good. But you are right that none of the websites show very good pictures.

What did you use to trim the lip? I'm pretty happy with my RBR but I wanted more curved spokes. From what i've seen the difference between RB and RBR depend on the size of the wheel. I think the 16 RBR has a flatter spoke, but the 17 has more curve. I think it also depends on offset and the amount of lip.

Jeff, I just noticed that your Z was one of the Z's I used as inspiration for what type of wheels I wanted on my car. I had this picture saved on my pc.

They look great by the way. I couldn't decide on Gun Metal or Hyper-Black. They both look good.
  10. Mine squealed pretty bad and when I checked them they didn't have any shims. Ordered some from BlackDragon and they havent squealed so yet.

What type of wheels are those? Also how do you like your springs and shocks. Did you cut them or is that a normal amount of drop? I still think I need a stiffer setup. I noticed that will a full tank and my fat arse in it the driver side rubs more. Mike, my bumpers look strange because the PO took the bumper rubber off then compressed and welded the shocks so they sit closer to the car. I'm actually waiting for a guy to ship me a pair of 240z bumpers.
  12. Thats where mine connects, but i'm thinking he is talking about Where that wire goes on the other end??
  13. On my 75 its grounded to the base where the AFM sits on.

No not new. But modified. I cut my stock springs. I will eventually get new. Maybe later this year. I just wanted a quick fix to see what it would look like. Ride didn't seem to change at all.

I think they have a combination of old school and new school looks to them. I love mine.

Just a little over big bumps. But its not bad at all. I cut my springs because I was tired of the 4x4 look. I will eventually buy some new springs and struts. I think that with a stiffer setup and rolling the fender lip I will be ok.

I just purchased and restored a 240z steering wheel for my 75 280z. Over all it came it pretty nice. I'm having one issue though. The steering wheel did not come with a horn pad and I am trying to use my 280z horn pad I just got. I'm able to get everything mounted but the horn doesn't stop. Its wierd because I know that no metal is touching but it still goes off. Even without the horn pad it goes off. Its like the screws are magically touching metal that I can't see. Think that if I just get new screws it would work? When I take all the screws out it works fine. Here are some pics... Before... After...

So far I don't get any rubbing in reverse turning either direction or at full lock. But thats probably because its sitting so high. Eventually I will probably buy a big brake kit, but that might not be for a while. I liked the look of both Gunmetal and Hyperblack, but chose Hyperblack because sometimes you can't make out what the wheels look like when they are a darker color. KTM, Using some Wheel and Tire calculators it would seem that your tires actually are taller and stick out closer to the fender than what mine do. So hopefully I won't have problems when dropped. Atleast thats what i'm hoping.

Mike, i'm pretty sure they are the same wheels you are looking for. They are all in decent shape. I dont think they have any curb rash. The two front are pretty badly stained but the rears look good. I will send you some pics later if you want. KTM, how far is yours dropped and how? Do you have any pics? I'm thinking 2" would be perfect.

I'm a little worried about that but if the worse thing I have to do is put some small flares on i'll be ok. I think the pictures are a little deceiving. The picture was taken late after noon and the sun was hitting the car at an angle which caused the tires to look like they are petruding way out. Especially since the car is riding so high!! They are actually right at the lip of the fender. Here are a couple more pics. My front wheel is a little turned to the right.

I ordered some Rota RB-R 17x8.5 +4 Offset for my 75 280z and got them mounted yesterday. Took my Z to work and took a few pictures. Tell me what you think. I think they came out great. I was able to mount on stock suspension with no spacers. Its a pretty tight fit, but i doesn't rub at all. It will probably rub if and when I lower it. I'm running 225-45-17. Before... After... And future????

    WOW!! I missed that one.
  23. srbigbutt posted a post in a topic in Wheels & Brakes
Are they both 20mm offset? Any reason you didn't go with the +4?
  24. srbigbutt posted a post in a topic in Wheels & Brakes
I'm thinking of getting 17x8.5 with +4 offset. I should be fine in the back but the front is what worries me. I may just need a 5mm spacer and probably run 225 45 17 in the front. I would just like to see some good pictures and different color options before I buy.
  25. srbigbutt posted a post in a topic in Wheels & Brakes
What color did you get? Can't wait to see pics. Also what year 280z do you have and is it stock suspension. I'm interested in getting a set of 17x8.5 RB-R. Where did you get yours from?
