Are there any Fees for a NON OP 1st gen Z car?
Thanks fellas! Heres what i found. The Cali DMV Says it's about $17 to register with any fees due up front. "What if I Decide to Operate my Non-Operational Status Vehicle? If your vehicle has a valid non-operational status on file with the DMV and you decide to operate it, full registration renewal fees (and full or prorated weight fees, if appropriate) become due on the date of first operation. These fees must be paid prior to operating the vehicle or penalties will be assessed. NOTE: When a non-operational status is set on the vehicle record, the registration expiration date is left unchanged. Are any Vehicles Exempt from Reporting Operational Status? Yes. Owners of historical vehicles, horseless carriages, and vehicles that are part of a collection and are not operated are not required to register or file for the non-operational status. (These vehicles are defined in Vehicle Code §§5004, 5004.5, and 5051.) Other exempted vehicles include: Mopeds Vehicles with registrations which expire while in dealer or lessor/retailer inventory Vehicles with registrations which expire while being held for lien sale by an authorized towing company or parking facility Vehicles which are part of an apportioned or permanent fleet Special Equipment (SE) as defined in Vehicle Code §§245, 565, 570, and 575 Unrecovered stolen vehicles Title Only vehicles that are currently located and registered in a state other than California ———BUYER BEWARE!——— If you purchase a vehicle, you will be responsible for past due fees and penalties when you transfer the title into your name, unless: Registration is current. A non-operational status is on file with the DMV. Fees must be paid before operation to avoid penalties. The vehicle was otherwise exempt from these reporting requirements." I Also found this~ Registration Fee penalty for renewal applications: Late one to 10 days ~ $10 Late 11 to 30 days ~ $15 Late 31 days to (and including) one year ~ $25 Late more than one year to (and including) two years ~ $50 Late more than two years ~$100 And here are the links to the related information. http://www.dmv.ca.gov/vr/fees/miscellaneous.htm http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/brochures/fast_facts/ffvr01.htm http://www.dmv.ca.gov/vr/fees/reg_fees.htm Thyanx again guys! Now I'll let ya know how the deal go, Wish Me LUCK ~Z~

Are there any Fees for a NON OP 1st gen Z car?
Hi Friends, Please Help If you can ! ! A quick question. I think I found the right 1st gen Z for my to buy. I live in California and I was wondering if there are any fees associated with a NON OP Z that does not have any back fees. It sounds like I can make a deal with the seller but do not know how much it will cost to get it registerd with Cali DMV. The Z is solid with no Floor, Frame or inner body rust but has been on a NON OP (NON OPERATIONAL) since it was stored as Resto / Project car. Is this bad or good? thyanx for any help ~Z~ THYANX ALL ~Z~

240Z in movies
In the new movie remake of The Italian Job staring Mark Walhberg and Hot Chic Charlize Theron :classic: Through out the whole movie there are classic Datsun 240Z's and Mazda RX-7's all over the place. Other Old school imports too! Rented the DVD and I didn't notice at first untill after I watched it the 2nd time around when a sceen showing the outside of a crooked guys pawn shop had a white 240 roll right in front of the camera. I rewinded and sho nuff it was a Z! So I kept watching the flick and noticed many more Z's and 1st gen RX-7's making appearences. At the end of the flick during a traffic jam sequence it shows a sky shot of an intersection where pretty much every car that was either in the background or parked some where making one last Grande Finale! Also if you look closer during the whole movie you'll see some new school rides too It's an awesome flick that was really made by some car guys like us who paid extra special attention to details like that. And like I said theres a HOT CHIC TOO ~Z~

Has anyone seen these hood vents before?
Thanks yo, Whats stamp raised? It's labled as a Fairlady S30, S31 bonnet. I Always thought S31 was 300zx designation though It's going for around $400 U.S. and is located in Japan. I can only imagine what the shipping price would be on that, FedEx like a mug! Anyway I just translated the Kanji text and as it turns out the "Ducts" or hood vents are from a Celica :classic: So maybe the placement is spot on by luck! Never seen a Celi with these though so I'll check and make sure. So at least we know that much know

Has anyone seen these hood vents before?
Hello I was wondering if any one has seen these kind of heat vents on a seriers 1 S30 Z hood before? I thought I've seen these before but I'm not sure when or where. I've been eyeing these for awhile and I'd like to buy them but can't afford to right now and would rather get the vents only as opposed to the whole hood and shipping price for such, so really I like to know if there's a chance for me to find them later on maybe. Would like to use them in one of my Design ideas this summer for the Z show I hope Any help would be appreciated guys ~Z~ ~Z~
