  3. Took a look at my Ruby girl 2 days ago and she looks beutiful The engine was still out when I got to the race shop to have a look, all though the engine was fully assembled and sitting on a pallet awaiting the MSA Aluminum radiator still. Thought it was in the car thanks to someone who heard wrong. The engine color is Silver with everything from the oil pan down pianted Blake. Dean Nakutsu, the engine builder, wanted to paint the valver cover too but I told him if he wanted to do that to use a another so I could save that vintage looking Blue one with the Thrush Bird decal I put on it. Guess what...., he put the Old Blue valve cover back on Sick having a new engine with that flaking paint valve cover. Reminds me of those 1950's gassers, know what I mean Ver cool 70's touch I must say Fuel Injectors arrived yesterday thaynx to Steven, "SBlake01" and they look new as a bell. OK OK, I know I promissed pictures but neglected to grab my camara sooo.. . Well anyhow will take plenty of pics when I get her home. Last thing I need opinion with, should I go ahead and get the stock brakes from Les Schwab and be happy with those and upgrade later to Wilwoods when I can afford the bigger wheels tires and LSD? I mean I haven't driven my baby full force before yet so I don't know how good the stock brakes really are, well I need to drive safe anyway so maybe stock brakes are a good idea ~Z~
  4. HAHA, yeh pretty much thats my only reason for buying it. Kinda sad really, really it might take a good 2 maybe 4 years to finsh. If I had all the cash in the world maybe a week.... I see what you mean, just light it up and get it over with ~Z~
  5. Nope, it's all there as in the previous post of it, link for more pics http://s235.photobucket.com/albums/ee59/partnateam/stuff/ just had some mice and ant issuses though so Ima gut it fore I haul it home. Just thinking it may be a bigger project than I'm willing to chew, I believe the frame and floor pans need replaced too since the windows where rolled down whole time it was outside. But o well, my dream is a Skyline engine and tube frame it anyway, but may go stock enigine since it'll be cheaper and I can get the Black Z I always wanted and I'm picking up a 1978 White 280Z 4spd also with red interrior :classic: Tomorrows a busy day Will post pics of course.... ~Z~
  6. OK, I got the CASH today in hand. My friend owns it now and wants $500 even for it if I pick it up this Friday. Jus so I know I'm not crazy is it worth getting my hands into it and getting them dirty. Just thought Id' seek one last 2nd oppinion before my dad calls me nuts ~Z~
  7. Looks like American Racing made these in 6 different sizes, I was told, and it was known as a model called "G. T." originally sold in six sizes, including 15x5.5 and 15x8. Centerline also made the same design and I was told to find a 1970's brocher for AR to see if the 15's were made in the S30 Z bolt pattern. If anyone has a scan of those borchers by chance please post, I'll try to find one too ~Z~
  8. List your closest Vin Twin ! Not only by number but color if possible. Here goes my twin, another Wine Red Metallic 1977 280Z HLS30-359763 10/76 My 77 280Z is HLS30-360104 10/76. Same build month! Link-> 1977 280Z Wine Red Metallic And this one has the same silver lower Valence panels as mine, what are the odds of that since that trim peice was dealer instaled. Is it also possible that all of the 341 Z cars between 359763 and 360104 were painted the same color as a single batch? I read hints of this before. Anyway, theres the closet Vin to mine to date, let alone a Twin ! PS, my friends 78's a look alike also. ~Z~
  9. Awezoom! Awezoom ! Awezoom ! Looks to be a pretty big group there ! I let everyone know what day sounds about right, hopefully working with everyones schedual. Plan on stayin for at 2 weeks maybe a month. Thyanx for the link. Always wondered if there was a club there. didn't figure the the S30's were strong back there. I signed up and waiting for the Admn to activate my Avatar. I can dig it Love that show, just saw the one with the Latin Cat "young guy" and his "Purpleish Black" GTO the other night. Reafirmed my faith and the reson why we luv cars so much, for the LUV of the car and the friends and family who apreciate the artwork and overall mutual LUV for one another aswell. Oh yeah, I'll be sure to bring my Nissan Dealership Mechanic shirt Thats OK, i'm not bringin mine either, I'm taking Amtrak But seriously, bring yoself and maybe leave with a box of parts! I know I am, I hope to swing by a new found ANSA stash on the way over Lets see what else the rust belt has, ! Fo Sho Anyone else... ? ~Z~
  10. Any members near or in Indianapolis? I'll be there on August 8th to visit some family members for a few weeks. Like to meet up with some Z Heads ~Z~
  11. Pretty sweat ride man ! Your vin anywhere close to 360104?
  12. OK these prices are some what outa hand  , found "a" supplier only one found so far in this state and the price for 17x17x9 inch "plate" for a aluminum block is $949 per block. So yeah thats $950 a rim! 17x17x10 of course more expensive.... Still looking for more supliers for a cheaper price hopefully, so if I'm gonna spend 7 to 8K for one set by a shop I might aswell pay the same so that at least you get a free set, n0o brainer . BTW anyone know what it takes to get a rim design DOT aproved? Or would a set such as this from a known exact copy of Per Specs by ok by the DOT? ~Z~
  13. Think I found a few shops in the Roseville,CA area, will keep updated. AND FINGERS CROSSED :bulb: ~Z~
  14. That threads' freaking MASSIVE !
  15. oh yeah, BTW those rims from Boyd and such where qouted at $400 to $500 per wheel. And those 24x12 inch wheels where $37,000 ! My inbox is empty now for those trying to reach me. ~Z~
  16. Enigne is now back in ! Gas was cleaned out few days ago. All left now is Aluminim Radiator, set of new injectors, all new polyurethane bushings and Willwood Disc brake conversion to be drivable again. Shooting for a first week of August finsish date Pics and more updates to come. ~Z~
  17. I was talking to Randy at Les Schwab here in Racerville and he faxed off pics of my wheels to American and Boyd Coddington and wating to hear back from them. He said about $400 to $500 which is about the price for a new set of Watanabes if they can do it, so compared to that I gusee it's resonable Thyanx But... I like these too much  If you come across some new AR Vectors though.... I found this one shop in SoCal called Evod Industriess and they qouted me roughly 5,000 to 7,000 US for the sizes fore mentioned. Larry who I spke with said they do alot of Riddler cars and such and that they did one set of wheels where it started off as a 800lb block of billet and they widdled it down to 41lbs, it was a 24x12 inch wheel! Yeah, cheap aint the word no doubt. Sound good enough plan, I'll I to higher Columbo and Matlock for this one maybe. Compared to this project finding ANSA's is easy Any more help still apriciated. ~Z~
  18. Hello, Does anyone know of a shop in California or anywhere for that matter, who can repoduce a rim for me. I'm trying to get my Peformance Specialteis rims remade in a 15x7 front and 16x7.5 in the rear to fit a Big brake conversion kit. These are mine now, in 14 inch size. And these are a supossed American Racing version. Just trying to find a shop so I can get the vintage look with newer brakes. I live 45 miles North of Sacramento and been told of shops in Roseville, CA but haven't been able to find anyone who can do it after calling around and stuff. The rims are Aluminum but any kind of billet / CNC machine type will do. Hopefully with a reasonable price. Please help of recommend a shop if you can. My number is 530-301-1562 if you like to call, Thyanx in ADVAN ~Z~
  19. I mean the dude seemed like a really cool cat. It's hard to see someone who was known for his "philosophical" thoughts on Kung Fu and life in general be that upset over something. I'm thinking maybe he had some sort of cancer or illness he was fighting which we didn't know about, like the judge in Hardcore and Mckormic.
  20. WingZr0 replied to Cessna's topic in Help Me !!
Yeah, I bassicaly had to buy NOS lower and upper thermostat housing parts and the bolts. The bolts that broke were in the lower housing. Figured why drill when I can just replace the whole thing since the lower housing to cylinder head bolts didn't brake off. Easy job for me , though cost me 100 bucks ~Z~
  21. Wow, this is messed up, somethings not right.... Dude???? ? I mean come on, Kwai Chang Caine? http://movies.yahoo.com/news/movies.ap.org/actor-david-carradine-found-dead-bangkok-ap ~Z~
  22. WingZr0 replied to Cessna's topic in Help Me !!
I used the MSA ones and they worked out fine, they're on the cylinder head now. Dont know how long untill they go bad though like the old ones did when those snaped off too on my '77. Didn't know it was a common problem. ~Z~
  23. Like to sell these befor the weekend if someone really needs them http://www.classiczcars.com/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3883&cat=500 ~Z~
  24. I inquired about it. And the fact I live 45 miles North doesn't hurt either. To get Ruby back on the road the way I want it, "Running that is", is going cost at least another 7 stacks. Sheesh...., pricey :tapemouth ~Z~
