  1. BTW it still rows through the gears just fine so far.
  2. Yep that sounds likely. She's been sitting in the same spot for 6 or 8 weeks and the spots been getting bigger. along the center from the trans drain forward is gold color fluid thats not dripping so most likely i guess its just excess grease. But the red stuff is as you describe. SO are you saying Arne it's just letting go of extra fluid or do i need to get the seal replaced?
  3. . Thanks Mike for the pics but Ooooo, my cell phone has crappy resolution. I can't make out NGK decals on it. Is this the one from race? Beautiful car though from what i CAN see . Trying to find period photos of it or other cars from the race to see/confirm what they actually had on them.
  4. I'm leaking some kind of redish fish smelling fluid from where the engine block mates to the bellhousing. Is this the fluid for the fly wheel and clutch disc and why would it leak now? It's a newly rebuilt 1977 280z L28 with 4 speed.
  5. Awaiting reply from NGK.
  6. Good points. I'll try and get hold of NGK tomorrow. The ANSA logo i might have some sway with getting the green light since I know some folk in the company. I hope they all say yes cause these things are way to cool for them not to offer in the first place.
  7. Thought there was the public domain rule if this peticular design was more than 20 or 30 years old. If not then who do i need to contact, NGK head quarters?
  8. Whats UP yah Like to know who's interested.... I have this idea to replicate a Vintage Rare "NGK Grand Prix Suzuka" decal. Size is 3.5 inches in diamter, Heres a pic of it. I only seen 2 of these ever and they're based from "according to the source", the 1963 to 1964 Grand Prix Suzuka which the Fairlady 1500 won in it's class in it's first year of racing. More information about the Grand Prix at this link http://www.datsun.org/fairlady/JapanGP1963.htm Member Mike B. was instrumental in helping me get these so I gave him the other one for helping me out, Thyanx again bro However the Grand Prix went on for several more years so this decal may actually be anywhere upto the early 70's, (based on lettering and font style it is correct for all those years), or as the source said from the inagural race 63' 64' it's self. Since our Z's use NGK's I figured these would be a period correct look and deffinatley cool since it also depicts a famouse Japanese race track :classic: OK to the point, I like to know how much interest there is to make this happen, so if your interested chim in. The numbers and price I have in mind so far is that we'll need 15 to 20 members at $25 each and that would get 3 decals per member for that price, ( one for both sides of the Z and a spare for the the hood the car or a lunch box ). I'm sending off my original along with detailed photo copies of Mikes to a vinyle sticker manufacture to have a artist proof drawn up. The proof is a all new original rendering based from the decals, just so you know this not a scan and print job. These will be Automobile grade vinyle, 150 lines of High resolution picture quality, die cut and of course long lasting. The proof well be a mix between mine and Mikes giving a nice clean perfect version of the design with out any flaws or overbledding caused by the original printing processes of the 60's and 70's. So it will be perfect! Once the Proof is is rendered I will submit it here for your guys approval first before sending it to press. Once we agree on the proof we can make payment then. If you have any thoughts or ideas or sugestions of any kind please let me know as one thing I thought was to make it 4 inches instead of 3.5, but I think it would be better to keep it in the original size as intended IMO. On a side note also I'm looking into geting any of these ANSA decals and Prince Datsun fender emblem replicated aswell. Link -> ASNA Race Sponsor decals The big red one is 8 by 6.5 inches but can be made in 6 by 4.5. That one will be a bit more pricy since it will have to be die cut to a custome shape. And the "1960's F1 race car" shaped one is a reverse window type in the colors of Red, Blue Black and Green with the ANSA logo in the center. You can barely make out the details under the cover sheet. Once again same quality as for the NGK decal. Woooo, thats aot of typing ~Z~
  9. Sweeeet . 45 minuts, yep thats about average for Datsunholic. ;-)
  10. My new favorite quote ! That Sebring Tunning sounds interesting. Thing about Ansa's though is they don't make Z stuff no more. I'm good at tracking them down but the best place to find them is Ebay most ofthen.
  11. I see the HP 1 for trucks and diesels, is there a link for the HP 2?
  12. ANSA all the way ! I've sold these things litarally world wide with no complaints. Hawaii, New Zealand, Tailand. Aus. Member Zedyone_Kenobi can vouch for them. He say they sound like Fararri's from the old La Mans days, (you know, 50 's 60's Gran Prix 's.) . He runs a similar set up not far off from where you can be with a sound clip if you search for it. He can tell you where the power band lies at as well in the Low range mid range or high range. Not to sound like a plug but I have a kit version in the classifieds good for 2 or upto 4 inches inlet diameter. But do your research and ask around as these are Vintage and Not junky ricer parts.
  13. In that case heres something that'll help you past the time. You ever heard of a website called BREAK.COM? If someone video tapped ya you should post it.
  14. Your gear shift hand, ouch. Get yourself some Jack and try not to do something stupid, like push ups
  15. Sic seems like you know what your doing. Is that true Black or a bit of Charcoal?

Glad to have you . If its a real Fairlady Z right hand drive you did good. Mechanically they're super easy to work on and quite frankly relaxin to just be having a go with a wrench in your hand enjoying the day passing the time. Parts are relatively cheap aswell. Handles great and can go pretty fast . Any pics?
  17. You know it your about the only one I know . Yeah, the oil biz, a cousin's trying to get me on driving 18 wheelers for Chevron making 16 to 18 bucks a hour with unlimited overtime ! Looking forward to rake'n in the loot, bootlegging that "Red Neck Heaven" past Texakanna . Likely be driven a 2nd down or buying a new one immeadiately I get there, searching Craigslist Houston and all Texas. Cheaper than finishing Ruby for the trip. What hurricanes ?
  18. Right on bro, welcome aboard ship
  19. WingZr0 "Parts Hero" may have done it again ! Been searching for factory Ansa race stickers / decals for a year and a half since finding 2 ultra rare red shield logos in 7 and 7/8ths by 6 and 1/2 inches. These look great between the fender emblem and the side bumper strip, about a 2 inch gap to spare between the top and bottom of it. I was talking with member Dan S yesterday and he mentioned he saw one running around New York, making only 3 that I know in existance to date. Search a thread called 'Ansa Tips' and you'll see them. Well anyway just last night I got a lead to a also rare 2.75 inch size in Italy which may also have the bigger ones above. 2.75 inches is big enough for a nice little fender "arm" badge fitting between bumper strip to top of fender. Hopefully this will lead to another lead for more Twin Stacks. I'll feel I'm getting closer to the source, wish me luck ~Z~
  20. As said above, non matching engine kinda gives you the excuse to go for it. Cars like the one in your pic can bring serious cash especially to the Hybridz crowd, only thing much more than that is Concours showroom stock IMO.
  21. Any pics of the part?
  22. Oooo Nice . Where'd you find that one, say one on ebay few years ago and it looked damn sweet. What shop you heading in Sac? Meet a few Z guys there but don't know a good place for parts. Depending on what you need if you can make it up to Yuba City on 99 i might have a few things you can use. I'm right off the highway . ~Z~
  23. Lets see some photos and history Your in the right for help and place for finding all the parts.
  24. Well as far as your other options in my opinion it don't get much better than this. I mean it's a low vin 70 in more than decent shape from appearance. How can Otheres disagree if it's mechanically sound. If structurely sound its a definate go as mechanicals can be fixed easily at a good / set price. IMO
  25. 30 minuts north of Sac whats up! Theres at least, by last count, 41 S30 Z's here . Got a 4sp '77 too, VIN HLS30-360104 . Yours any close to being a VIN Twin and Wine Red Metallic?
