My car dosent start yet and I noticed a long time ago that the filter for the manual pump dosent fill all the way even when the car was sort of running, since fuel was making it to the filter and to the carbs I figured it was fine, but sinse the car isnt running I thought I'd check. they are filling half way

thanks for all the suggestions, Ill check the float levels today, I read my manual and I think I figured out how to do it. Will they not work at all if the wrong oil is put in, these are from ebay and Im not sure what oil is in them so I might open em up clean em out and refill with 20w.

okay I have 2 questions what is the corect level of oil in the dampers on the roundtop carbs because the haynes manual tells you to fill the dampers to the correct level with SAE 20 engine oil, BUT IT NEVER TELLS YOU WHAT THE CORRECT LEVEL IS!!! Also how do you adjust the carbs if the car isnt running (is it just guess and check??) because the Haynes manual tells you to adjust the carbs after the engine obtains normal operatring temperature but my car doesnt run and I think I need to adjust to get it to run, ( is cold enginge adjustment covered in the Z therapy video??) thanks, Ill be back monday.

thanks havent replied till now, I was sorting out a fuel line fitting problem (long story and a huge PITA!!!) and sticking it all back together into the night with a flashlight today and once I hit the key to try it all out my battery was dead grrrrr!

I have a missmatched set of tires 2 Pirelli 195/70SR14 and 2 Dunlop 185/70SR14 one of the dunlops leak so I was looking for a good deal to replace all 4 on ebay. First does anyone know what the S stands for?? these are the tires that came with it and it had been sitting since 1991. The Z is getting ready to get on the road and I need to replace the tire. I was looking at sets on ebay and I cant find anything exactly the same size so I was thinking of going for a tire with a slightly lower profile(60) since those seem to be more available. What chages with the lower profile (economy, performance, handling, etc...) and are there any brands to stay away from. the ones I found are Falken and Kumho I havent heard of these but I dont really know tire brands.

Hey I got round tops off ebay for the price of a core so no loss if they dont work, even came with intake manifold and valve cover that looks cleaner than mine. Thanks again for all the help

Thanks for all the feedback, I thought that Ztherapy had the option of paying a core-Charge too, I will probably opt for SU's off of ebay, I have seen some nice ones on there for cheap. The triple webers are nice too, but 1,500 carbs don't exactly fit the budget of a 17yr old haha

Hi I have a 73' 240z that I am fixing up and I know little about cars, ...this is a learning experience for me. I have read about the dreaded "flattop" carbs and since mine were not working anyway, I have decided to replace them, but I have no Idea what to replace with. I have found a few kits to exchange them, but I don't know which I should buy so that it works best with my engine(stock L24).Any suggestions????
