how much did you pay for you're Z?
$1,500, plus the trade in amount of $2,000 for my stock(!) '92accord=$3,500 I wasn't a member of this site, and didn't know exactly where to look, or the cost/process of fixing certain things-if I had known these things, I would have offered just the $1,500 cash-and nothing more. So, legendz, you are doing it correctly-get your ducks in a row, be patient, and go prepared. Think of it this way-you are not going to buy the z, you are going to interview the z-if that makes any sense...:stupid:

Yes, and "no" it's a stand alone, old school unit. Think vacuum tubes versus solid state tech. one is as is , the other can be modified

Well guys SCARLETT has returned to ebay LOL
There is some great stuff in this ad. Yeah, I'd say it's rare-a 1975 280 ZX I hope that it has new components-it would be a little silly to have a new rebuilt engine comprised with old used parts...of course a newly rebuilt engine, or a refurbished engine would be a different matter. Good, I didn't think they made nicorette for cars. Wait, didn't they just say it looks like a new rebuilt engine? How do they know it has a powerful, reliable, and efficient engine-they don't even know if it is a rebuild, for crying out loud! And then there is the transmission, a but plenty of overspray I'm not mocking the car, just the ad.

GREETINGS! ZX'er here in Arizona
Matt, welcome to the site, it's always nice to see another zx show up, and yours seems a beaut! I've got a 79 as well, so if you need specifics from the Factory Service Manual, I can help. Do you have any photos of the frame rails? They may not be as bad as you think; but if they are, replacements can be purchased from zeddfindings at http://www.datsunzparts.com/start.htm Do you know anything about those rims-I've not seen that design before. anyway, enjoy the site, check out the search function, and head over to http://zhome.com/ for a checklist of things to look for when purchasing your next z car.

Brake help
I would try the Zbarn-It's a one person operation, so leave a message and you will get called back. There is more stuff available than is listed on the website, so call, even if the stuff you need isn't listed. http://www.zbarn.com/

Need a Clutch Shop in Phoenix Arizona
If you want to move to heaven, just scoot over to New Mexico (preferably Santa Fe). Beautiful sky, clean air, arid weather, great winters that don't feel that cold, even if it is...I miss it. By the way, do you Texans know the name of your largest State Park? New Mexico (just go there in the summer and look at the license plates-am I right NM members?)

Grinding when engaging reverse.
I am not trying to hijack the thread with this question, just trying to clarify something- When you drain the old fluid (from the tranny, or the differential) with the intention of using a synthetic (like redline), is it necessary to somehow flush out the old dino based lubricant? I've been thinking about replacing the liquids in both, but would like to do it correctly, and I imagine that Adam would want to do the change correctly as well.

Wiper boots dry out Fast
I personally like spray silicon, stuff works very well, it's clear and doesn't affect paint-so overspray isn't a problem, repels water (great for door locks), and makes the radio antenna slide up and down much smoother than before, all without any sort of greasy, oily residue. Perhaps a reasonably liberal amount sprayed onto the boot, or the wiper assy. would help. FWIW

Super Skyline????
You know they aren't going to fix that, so I wonder how much it will go for at the insurance auction... but I agree, I'd much rather a Skyline for many reasons, not the least of which (in comparison) is having a back seat, and a trunk that is worth something. Of course, I doubt the trunk on the Super Skyline is functional, but at least there is some interior space.

Super Skyline????
Which would you rather have- a $1.5million supercar, or a car that acts and performs like one for (one would assume) much less money? http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/driving/jeremy_clarkson/article596580.ece

how to install this alternator...
Nate, Out of curiosity, what year/model Z are you trying to attach this alt. to? I know that zx alternators can be used on earlier Z cars, but in order for this to work, a couple things need to happen first. I couldn't tell you what they are, but a quick search of the site will yeild that info, should it be what you are needing.

Cleaning Plastic gauge windows
A couple thoughts to try some CD cleaner, since as I understand it, that stuff gets into the scratches and blends it away. Could be wrong, and if I am, then you have some stuff to repair your scratched CDs. How about stuff for cleaning plastic glasses-check at LensCrafters or any other glasses shop.

ebay '72 240 in FL w/BIN $750
This one looks pretty good, especially the part where the owner is willing to trade this car (and all the goodies) for something of equal value. Claims to have an uncracked dash, comes with extra engine & trannie, and a kick arse gas pedal -seller seems pretty straightforward about the condition...definately worth looking at
