Rear speaker boxes
Sorry no hijacking intended but it is only the 240's that had only 2 speakers? Cause my 260 has 4 in the back two near the rear lights and two above the towers( one on each side) I was thinking of purchasing a speaker box from MSA myself.

Picked up the Z today
Thanks Enigma, BTW- After looking in the owner manual in the back you know the log they put back there where the original owner should log oil changes and such. Well, the original owner has the same last name as mine, now thats a coincidence right back into the family. ( Now I wonder if I was actually related to him)

Wow that is one nice litlle roadster i wouldnt mind having one of those in the garage if i were to own at least one honda. In the pictures it makes the Z look big but nonetheless its a beautiful car. I wonder how the comparison would be between that and the datsun roadster was that honda's answer to the roadster or vise versa? Thanks for posting this MoonPup.

Picked up the Z today
Enigma - I had trouble explaining it last night as I was tired from work and push her but basically the shifter came all the way out because the bolt that holds it in place to the transmission was never put back right after the tranny was replaced. So while my dad was on his way to the house and was about to put her in 5th gear(having to much fun without me) the whole shifting rod knob and all came outta the boot. Now he could've fixed right there but didnt have a screw driver in the car and by the time we got it to the house it was dark so it was no way we were gonna get the console apart with speeding traffic in the middle of the street in a descent amount of time.

Picked up the Z today
Finally got her home after the Po finally came back from texas to do the title sign over. I was hoping it wouldve been done yesterday because I was off from work, but it worked out in the end. Here's my Z pick-up story... Since i had to work today from 3-7:30pm i told my dad to wait for me to get off from work since i couldnt be there at 3 as planned. Instead of waiting i found out he had already picked her upand was on his way to drop it off ( i wanted to ride with him back) that was 20 mins before i had to get off via sneak cell phone call.so i got off Grinning like crazy with co-works asking WTH is wrong with you with only leaving my babys coming home today i left them with ??? on the faces. Anyway my mom was waiting in the parking lot and we stopped by advanced auto parts which was right across the street to pick up a car cover. My mom asked why since its going in the garage and i said it would be good to have one just incase ( im glad i did as you'll find out later) we left and halfway to the gas station my moms phone rang and it was my dad i kinda knew why he called deep down but didnt want it to happen because my mom was with me he said the car broke down on the interstate. he said it was something with the gear i knew exactly what it was[it was a missing or loose screw/bolt on the stick shift rod that came loose so the whole rod came out dislabling the car from being able to be driven]. So after a brief discussion overthe cell we had to pick him up but of course get gas firstsince our car was close to E. So we told him to walk to the Toys R US near by since we were both so close and we would pick him up and call AAA to tow her. well we were in the gas station and guess what a AAA tow truck pulled right up and the tow was free because of my mom service she pays for. The Guy was off but was nice enough to help us. Well he towed the car back to the house and since we have a steep drive way I knew it was gonna be big trouble and it was BIG TROUBLE. The car was in the middle of a bust street since our house is on a corner and the brake was tight so pushing it was a pain in the butt. Before we could get it up the driveway we knew it wasnt gonna happen so we had to get it to the front of the house. That was about 50-75 feet away maybe more im really not sure we just knew it was a far push at night with traffic blowing and drivin by fast. So my dad being the wise one took his car and pushed the Z to the corner where we had to push while the tow truck driver steered. Which was fairly easy once we got her moving so she wasnt perfectly parked in the end but she wasnt on a busy street. And is safe and sound in front of my house where she has that supposidly uneeded carcover on her keep her safe.(hope it doesnt rain tonight) ...END of story.... Will post picks tomarrow when theres actually some light.. Got plenty of parts out of the deal and several books and manuals and so part for an air condition new tires and wheels. The car was built in 11/73 and is RLS30-012443. Came an original key in good condition. I will check the chassis and engine number later when i can see. later

In dash cd player with extra
I dont like my music loud while driving( in case of ambulances and firetrucks plus i just dont like it loud) but im a major audiophile and my music has to sound good.. that why I would flesh out more on the speakers than on the actual deck. I still wouldnt get an el-cheapo deck though. I've seen to many go dead, buttons jams or just stop working completly. JVC, Alpine, Panasonic and Kenwood are my favorite deck brands and Infinty or Polk is my choice of speakers. Remotes are not for me either they just get in the way and are to much a hassle, im not that lazy. Those JVC decks look pretty tempting Tomohawk im going to have to check them out, good price too. Virto, I know what you mean right now I have two Cd-RWs that have 140 mp3 on them(ea.) and havent skipped a beat yet and all my favorite songs are on those 2 cds. Now thats what I call lightening your load.

In dash cd player with extra
In My mind I would never buy a car stereo from target nor walmart but this is the first time Ive seen a deck with a media slot. ( I have plenty of chips from 32mb to 4gb that I have collected ) and it looks good just need to find one in an actually audio store. What were the prices you saw Tomohawk so I can get an idea of a "real" brand would cost with said features. It would also be nice to connect my sony clie NX60 to the car so id have gps and music without spending extra cash.

Vinyl/Velour seat reupholstery kits
yea the 260 has the vinyl with velour in the middle it was reupholsterized by the previous-previous owner..
-
In dash cd player with extra
Well some people dreams are coming true with the sd card built in the the cars cd player deck and an ipod usb connection slot. These two features are great just hope some other brands have a system like this. I saw the radio in a target sunday paper ad today resembles an alpine deck but is some other brand...Only thing I question is the systems sound quality. link-(you can clearly see a sd, memory stick media or XD slot on the left hand side) http://weeklyad.target.com/target/circular_browse_listing_detail.asp?storeid=2395552&pagenumber=9&rapid=301149&listingid=-2094621715

Vinyl/Velour seat reupholstery kits
I dont know if it was offered as an option, but I do know that the velour in the middle is a lot better than stright up leather because leather gets hot in the summer(burns) and cold in the winter. The only thing leather has compared to the combo is looks and the joy of saying I leather seats in my car's feature list. My 260 has been reupholsterized with the velour and feels nice right now I just dont like the color scheme.

Is chassis worth saving
I would say a no because you can always fine a good shell somewhere that would be less hassle and less money trouble. Unless you just like taking on body projects.Lets hear from some other Z gurus that know much more than me( a novice).
