Ben with the Monte MINI

v12horse

I have been looking around at the local MINI dealerships to find one of these and I finally spotted one at the Concord BMW/MINI. If you don't know what this is, it is the Mini known as the MC40. It is the comemorative Mini for Paddy Hopkirk winning the Monte Carlo Rallye in 1964, and it even has "33 EJB" plates on it. Well, they are stickers. This is a lovely car, and it only comes in the S version. This particular one is #262 of 1000 that will be built. When I get out of school this is the exact car I would love to get. It will be 4 years old when I am in the market for one, hopefully. Of course I would have to get the "Works" version. :) Does any of you members own a Mini old or new currently or previously? If so, tell me about it. I hope you like it. hehehehe

Hi Ben, I'm a fan of the MINI too, although I don't think I'd ever buy one... my dad owns a Mk 1 Cooper S (BRG with white roof!), but it's sitting outside under a tarp waiting for restoration... about 10 years ago he parked it when he got a new car, and it's just sat ever since. Sad story, hopefully one day dad will have enough time to restore her back to her former glory!

That is awesome Lachlan. I am a big fan of the Mk1 cars too. What kind of S does he have? BRG with the white top is very classic and very Mini. Is it a Cooper or a Morris? I sat in a very well sorted 1275 Morris Cooper S. It was very nice, but my head hit the roof because the buckets were so high. There is a fellow around where I live that has a purple Mini. It is not an Mk1 though, but it is still nice.

Take care and tell your dad to restore the Mini,

Ben
