1971 240Z Factory Restore

Did anyone notice the reclining seats? I didn't think the 240Z had reclining seats until the 73 model year.............

Mike, I have a late 1971 ( 7-71 ) and it doesn't have them. I guessed they installed them in the 72's.

That's my understanding, but as always, keep in mind that there's no clean cut distinction between model years. It's probably only safe to say that reclining seats started appearing sometime in the fall of 1971.

I think we are establishing a good timeline here as to when reclining seats appeared.

My 1972, (HLS30-59593) manufactured 12/71, has reclining seats. So, one can say the seats changed between November/December of 71.

On a side note: My car is equipped with non-retractable seatbelts, but has the recesses behind the seats for the later retractable units
