September 20, 200321 yr comment_50394 You can't see the right engine mount here, but notice how the engine leans right. If your right engine mount is the same as the left one, then you have two of the same mounts, and that's wrong. September 20, 200321 yr comment_50395 Nope, those mounts look OK. Notice that the right one comes out flat on top and the left one angles down. So, doesn't look like the problem. Sorry. There are only three mounting points for the engine and transmission - those two and the rear of the tranny. I don't see how the rear can be off if these are OK. Got me now... September 20, 200321 yr Author comment_50396 attached is photo engine installed. As you can see,it sits strait up. Is it possible the mounts are reversed. They both came off of this car. September 20, 200321 yr comment_50399 OH! I was looking at the photos wrong - the mounts are different, but they DO appear to be reversed! the one that comes out flat on top should be on the right (passenger) side of the engine, and it looks like you have it on the drivers side. September 20, 200321 yr Author comment_50401 Mark,I think you are right, I looks like they are reversed. Damn it, no I have to lift the motor again. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8008-installed-motor-today/?&page=2#findComment-50401 Share on other sites
September 20, 200321 yr comment_50402 One more - here is my right engine mount (passenger side). Compare it to yours, and you'll see yours is angled down, and this one comes out flat first. They're switched. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8008-installed-motor-today/?&page=2#findComment-50402 Share on other sites

Easy to get the mounts mixed up and a relatively easy thing to fix. I had both mounts on the wrong sides of the engine while it was on the engine stand being rebuilt, and only realized my error 5 minutes before I was to install the motor in Bambikiller. :stupid: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/8008-installed-motor-today/?&page=2#findComment-50404 Share on other sites
September 20, 200321 yr Author comment_50405 I see the difference now. Thanks for the help. Its kind of a bummer after spending 7 hours on the car including installing and aligning hood, now I have to go back and rent the picker to redo the mounts. Oh well, at least I know the problem.
