Hi everyone,

I have a question for you. Why do my wipers move so slowly? I have take the linkage out and cleaned the bushings/etc and re-lubed them and it made no difference. There does not seem to be any restrictions in the linkage at all but yet the wipers move at a snails pace. Is this normal? Would a new motor help? Any other options? I dread driving in the rain, not only because I dont want to get my car wet [:)] but also because I can barely see through the windshield. Thanks for any advice.

soaking the area can think of the name for it where the whiper itself mounts.

i had a hell of a time with my wipers on my 71.

soaked that area of the wiper assembly in penetrating oil over night and the rest is history.

also you might want to try cleaning your grounds and connections at the battery alt contacts. it cant hurt one bit. remember these cars are getting old
