1972 240Z Fan Blower and AC have quit

Featured Replies

Was heading to the Colorado ZFest the other day and all of the sudden my AC and fan blower quit running. It was a very hot day and had to roll the windows down to survive.
I have checked both inline fuses (20amp) in the wiring harness behind the radio and they are both good. Can someone tell me what these two fuse supply power to?
Got the fan out and it checks ok. How do you trouble shoot the resistor for the fan speeds (see attachment)?
What other steps do I need to take to find out why the fan now has no power at any speed?

I'm thinking there is a problem on the positive feed to the fan motor somewhere. I did notice that one of the inline fuses had gotten hot and actually was welded to the wire. I had to wiggle the fuse to get it to come loose. The end of the fuse holder showed high heat but the fuse had not blown, all though the fuse element was warped.
