I have my 240Z in for paint and the fenders are off.  I see a fender liner (rubber seal) on Z Car Depot.  Do you all use them when installing your front fenders?  If so, the clips that hold the seal are $6.50 each and you need 12 of them.  Is there an alternative for the clip?

Get a bulb seal. No clips needed.

I used closed cell foam tape. Does not absorb moisture.

@wheee! how think is the tape and where did you get it?

It snaps over the ridge leaving a bulb on top to cushion the fender. Super simple.

@wheee! I hate to beat a dead horse, but I see the foam tape as a solid piece of foam with one sticky side.  I don't see how it "snaps over the ridges".  Do I cut a slit in the tape to allow it to snap over the ridges.  Can you explain a bit more please.  Also, will this work?

Sorry, the foam tape goes on top of the flat fender supports. The bulb gasket goes over the fender gasket pinch weld.

This ended up being the trim I used for the fender liner seal.  It fit snug on the pinch weld and the seal fit perfectly.
