Restoration of "One-eighty-seven"

For those not easily impressed, I would have to say the restoration of the vin plate on the door is amazing. The rivets are very similar in size to the original.  If anyone has come up with an exact match, please let us know.

In keeping with the vintage look of the engine bay, Rod converted the 3-row stock radiator to a 4-row. It should be as a efficient as the modern aluminum ones.  The tip of my finger was used for reference of depth. Noticed the stock radiator in the blue car in comparison to the #187. The radiator element goes all the way to the edge. Some of the fins were bent putting the radiator in. That's almost unavoidable. I'll straighten them out when I get the car back. It'll give me something to do on my days off.  We decided on the plastic fan in lieu of the metal one. That will be restored and stored away.

What technique was used to restore the VIN plates?

Rod said it was "more luck than skill" to clean off the dirt and overspray using regular cleaning solution and 0000 steel wool with very light pressure.
