The thread for those balance tube ports is British Standard Pipe Thread. I assume that the threads on your vacuum gauge were NPT. Did you re-thread one to match the other, or was the NPT fitting close enough to just crank it into place?

Yes. 1/4 NPT Worked perfect. Found this one online. Great price.

Hope it survives the heat from the exhaust headers!

The orange paint on your air cleaner housing looks almost iridescent in the photo.  Did you use a special paint, or is it just a trick of the lighting?

VHT high heat Flat Orange w/ VHT satin clear. And the vacuum gauge has no issues with header heat.
