I've been looking for a 81 to 83 transmission. A guy that gave me the serial number off the one he is saying is out of 83. The serial number is 7807108. I believe this is out of 1977, months of production August. Do you think I'm correct.

Ok I can not fine the way to identify a 5 speed transmission with the S/N only the automatic transmission. Is the only way to identify the 5 speeds with transmission ears?
