Posted October 24, 201212 yr comment_405143 I have 2 wires running to a plug that are wrapped around the cable that leads to the EFI control box. I saw it today and have no idea what it's for or if it's even needed on my Z. FYI, mine is not a turbo (which this may be a connection for those who do have turbo), 5 speed, that I'm trying to restore. I would appreciate anyone that might be of assistance on this matter. October 24, 201212 yr comment_405156 Haven't ya got any real problems to solve on your Z? If curiosity is gonna kill your pu***, err, cat, then I'd get out the Factory Service Manual (FSM), see which pins those wires lead to, and trace it back. Here's a manual (pdf) for a '78, better than nothing as a starting point. http://www.xenons30.com/files/FSM/1978%20280z%20FSM.zip Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/44759-mystery-wire-83-280zx/#findComment-405156 Share on other sites
October 29, 201212 yr Author comment_405591 Thanks for a irrelevant link. It was a simple question, I expected a simple answer, but I suppose that's too much to ask. Oh and yes I have a TON of real problems with this restoration, but I guess you knew that also. October 29, 201212 yr comment_405596 Try this link for 280ZX info: http://xenons130.com/reference.html.Without the wire colors, it's difficult to guess what the wires could be for.
