Thanks for all of the suggestion. I have finally decided on a kit (I am not going to sew my own, learning curve and time). I thought long about what to get and was close to ordering a kit from Datsun spirit but I really wanted something closer to what the "280"z had stock, not sectional.

I went with MSA's molded kit, even though I have heard some bad things about the molded kit not fitting just right. There is so little info about replacing carpets in Zs, even more so for the 280 z owners. So I will try to post pictures and progress posts after the kit arrives.
