Will my stock tires fit 7" wide wheels?

I'm thinking about buying some used 14X7 wheels. I have brand new 195/70 R14 tires on my stock steel 14X4.5 wheels. Are those tires wide enough for the 14X7 wheels, or will I need new tires?

The stated specs for that size from most tire makers say that the max rim width should be 6.5". That said, it's been done many times before.

Couldn't agree more with Arne. The tires will get stretch, but not crazy stretch like you seen on some of the VW or 60's series tire running on 12inches wheel. You should be fine and the stretch won't be too obvious. In fact, that's what my next tires set will be 195/70r14 on 14x7 supra wheels.
