Posted September 26, 201014 yr comment_331800 Bunch of us from work got together and drove from Foster City to the Blackhawk Auto Museum in Danville. Took a bunch of pics but not that many came out well. Taking pics wasn't easy, because it was dark with lots of hi-intensity spotslights. Long exposures and no tripods allowed inside... This particular car really caught my attention. Talk about some wild fins! Not much rear-side visibility, but who cares! It was a one-off design study and they had several different verions. September 26, 201014 yr comment_331802 I love fins! They make the car go faster....almost like a turbo. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/37204-cool-fins/#findComment-331802 Share on other sites
September 26, 201014 yr comment_331803 love the Blackhawk Auto Museum. Really enjoyed visiting it last year. Did they still have the Porsche 959? Sacramento has a good lower budget one http://www.toweautomuseum.org/ but the cars aren't setup as good to where you can really walk all the way around them like at Blackhawk Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/37204-cool-fins/#findComment-331803 Share on other sites
September 26, 201014 yr comment_331806 Thats an Alfa-Romeo!! The tiny round badges gave it away. So cool. The Lane Motor Museum in Nashville had some cool cars. Here is one without fins. September 26, 201014 yr Author comment_331823 Did they still have the Porsche 959? I don't see the Porsche. The Blackhawk museum displays about 90 cars, but they rotate thier stock. Attached is a pic with a bubble canopy and the car on the elevated platform has a varnished wood body and all exterior metal is copper plate.
