oooold datsun

Featured Replies

Passed by this car more times than I can count. I always thought, ooo what a cool old datsun. Finally took a picture of it today! What is it?

It appears to be in good condition, but neglected (flat tires). Too bad.

Same with a pushrod 1600 with 38mm Hitachis, so it makes the cut in my book.

That one, however, is not a SSS which would be the version Bruce speaks of. I had one with a J13 pushrod engine. They may look cool but mine was a fairly miserable, underpowered, ill handling, vehicle.

Can remember back in the day seeing them all the time in the wrecking yards including SSS versions........man I wish I would have bought a handful and pocketed the SSS emblems. I am sure they might be worth something now

Cool car, you should get it, I just drove by one yesterday in far worse condition and will consider finding the owner to make an offer.

I should be totally without shame and offer $50 for it. I would be SOOOOO busted for it though. I would get the steely-eyed glare and obnoxious passive aggressive BS about it for months. I'll stick with the 240 ;)

Why even make an offer? Why not just swing by in your 240 and strike up a conversation? Datsun owners may be more than happy to talk.

I have no clue who owns it right now. One day I'll stop in and ask about it, I'm sure.

Good news! takin the Z down to get the gas tank fixed on it this week- tax refund came!

You could order them new from Nissan as recent as last November for $12....
