Hey can i get some estimates of what you guys think it would cost to have a head work do, replace the a couple valves, valve job, etc.

I should be more clear, what would the costs be from a machine shop for a typical head refurbish. I am being given 1200 from a local shop. Isn't this a little high?

I got a quote here in Colorado Springs $350 to $450. $1200 is too high.

If they're pulling the head that might be OK, but yeah, for the work alone that seems really high.

Depends on what you want done, sure a basic valve job could cost about 450.00 but a performance valve job along with setting up a new cam will definatly be up around 900.00 to 1200.00 or more. Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go ?
