Posted May 24, 200915 yr comment_284561 Hi, has anyone an information that might help:Looking at building a 2.8 motor with the following:2.8 block, 2.8 crank, 2.4 conrods, standard pistons and a n42 head. The compression ratio with 2.8 conrods is 8.29:1, where if you use the 2.4 conrods the compression ratio is 10.71:1Has anyone come across this before, are there any issues with using the longer rods...thanks..any feed back will be fantastic Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31956-24-conrods-in-a-28-block/ Share on other sites
May 24, 200915 yr comment_284564 Won't work without custom pistons. The L24 rods are almost 3mm longer than the L28 ones. Attaching L24 rods to L28 pistons and crank would cause them to smash into the cylinder head.Hypothetical installed piston height = 210.6mmDeck height = 207.85mmScenario = not gonna work Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/31956-24-conrods-in-a-28-block/#findComment-284564 Share on other sites
