73 Z-Car

Hello to all of you!

I am in the process of getting my Z car back on the road. It was bought new by my dad in 73. Sold to my sister in 80. And sold to me in 91. It has a BRE built engine and a later model 5 speed. Also my Sis added a full flare and spoiler kit when she owned it. I drove it for about 5 years then had to park it. Just re-aquired it from a storage lot in Corpus Christi last week and am getting ready to make a serious street car out of it. Have been racing Mopars for decades and have a very potent 340 that will find a home in the Z with the help of a builder here in Colorado that specializes in Pikes Peak Hill Climb cars. Know I will have many questions and maybe an answer or two!

Will do some pics as the project continues..

While we will be happy to help, most members here have only limited mods, and retain most of the OEM, or at least Datsun Parts.

For serious drive train upgrades, HybridZ.ORG might be a better forum for questions-though several members here are members there as well.

Hello cc2.

Welcome to the group. It is rare that a 240-Z stays in the same family for 36 years!! Glad to hear that you were able to retrieve it from Texas.

V8 swaps into the early Z's are pretty popular, but for the most part they are Chevy based. So it will be interesting to see how the Mopar works out for you.

Any plans to run Hill Climbs with it?... You are in the right part of the Country...

Looking forward to seeing some pictures - good luck,

FWIW,

Carl B.
