Good Luck to the Z Racers at the Solo Nationals!

Just got off the phone with Toby. His BMW is working perfectly and he was able to lay down a fast first run. He thinks John was coming back and Toby was worried, but John appeared to have over driven his third run. Hopefully no rain tomorrow.

4th heat is still running. XP is running right now and FP has their last runs to do.

EDIT: Hope you didn't curse JT. :-)

Wow, looks like John pulled a fast run out from nowhere. Toby was more consistent. Great job JT!

Yup. Congratulations John! The autocross God pulled one out again. I'll call Toby later today and find out what happened. Hopefully nothing I did on Toby's car broke... :-(

Traded texts with Toby. Intermittent rain with wet and drying patches on course. When you ran (down to the minute) was critical to a good time.

Toby really made John work for it. It might be time for JT to get some of those new trick shocks. JT got any in car video of your runs?

Thanks JMark... It was a tough year!

I'm thinking my problems on day 1 were Toby's problems on day 2... Sticker tires... The radial slicks really seem to work better after they have been heat cycled. I showed up on day one with virgin rubber and the car was frustratingly slow... The next day I was back in the hunt. Toby used sticker tires on day two on a drying course and really fell back. JT was on the Hoosier bias ply slicks which had been heat cycled the day before and ran those all week. The friday course was drying throughout our heat and was basically fully dry by last runs. JT broke it off on that one.

I was really happy with my friday times... if the car had continued to dtruggle I may have let it fall off the trailer on the way home! ;)

Congrats again John!

Tom
