Finding L.A. Mechanic

Featured Replies

Hi Z-experts-

I am a new owner and new to the forums. I hope this is the correct place to post this. I just purchased a 1982 280ZXT 5-speed. It is in pretty decent shape with 85k. Does anyone have a good mechanic, body shop and leather repair suggestions. I have found Z Expert (Venice), Sunrise Z (Glendale), Pierre Z (Hawthorne) and Precision Z (Canoga park).

Thanks!

Larry G

Not quite LA, But Elvin in Upland at Z-Car Specialties 909) 981 - 1074. Excellent work, Did my motor, great job. Does everything I don't know how to do or don't want to do.

Might also try Vincent Foreign Car Service in Covina. A number of ZCCIV members use them and like their work.

Best,

Bob

Give Mike's Z shop a try in Whittier.

For body work and rust-repair there's also Beta Motorsports in La Habra.

Skip Miller - Miller Sports Imports in Pasadena. Good ole Datsun Dealer mechanic gone solo. Where are you located?

I think Elvan closed the shop. I'm going to try to verify that tomorrow (Tuesday).

Elvan lives in Pomona Stephen, I've dropped off parts at his house before. Maybe he is working out of his garage...

I don't need anything done. He had talked about closing the shop a couple of years ago and I was just curious to see if he did.

Stephen. I want by Elvan's shop today and it is indeed closed. The phone number is disconnected as well. However, there are still plenty of Z cars inside and the yard is a bit tidier. I spoke to the neighbor. He said that Elvan has some personal matters to attend to but would be reopening in December.

I trust him with my car and hope that he does reopen.

Thanks, Randy. I haven't been down that way for a while. Next time I visit my stepmom or son who both live in Pomona, one in NW Pomona and one in NE Pomona, I'll drive by Elvan's and see if he's home.
