Must I drop the Gas tank before removing the bumper mounts?

I can see no other way to finagle them out, but have limited knowledge of these cars. Any alternate ideas?

Pre-shock Absorber mount bumpers, NO.

Post Shock Absorber Bumpers, I believe Yes.

I figured, I could pretty much look at them and know, but some of the Z owners on this site have forgotten more then I know, so I assumed it best to first ask.
