Cold Air Intake

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried the cold air intakes on Ebay. If so do they seem to improve performance and gas milage as claimed.

I made my own. The ones on eBay are too short IMO. As far as improving performance, I guess so. Anything to make it breahte betters has to help but it sure does sound better!

Mine's the same way with the K & N and yes, the performance is better and the sound is incredible, that combined with a cherry bomb high flow exhaust has my 77 280Z sounding nice n' fierce :)

I got mine off ebay and it works fine. Improved gas milage a little. Did give a performace boost though. Nothing huge, but i could feel it.

dont go with the cold air off of ebay. I would suggest making your own. I made mine with a 3in mandrel bent tube from JC Witney and a K&N Filter

Mine is aluminum, rather than 'aluminized' exhaust tubing like Whitney sells. I felt that the exhaust stuff is too heavy.

About the only thing you could get off eBay isthe elbow- if you can find the right one. I wasable to use the oem rubbers off the car; they were new tho.

do you have a video or sound clip with the cherry bomb muffler? I would like to hear it.

zmaster, rather than bringing back old threads, you should be concentrating on getting the problems solved on your own car. Look at the dates of the thread before you respond. I know you have no way of knowing but this thread was started by who has since passed away. This thread was over a year old when you bought it back to ask an inanae question about a mullfler when the thread wasn't even about mufflers. This type of thing might be part of the reason you had problems on HybridZ. Chill out on answering the old threads unless you have something pertinent to add.
