Parts trade?

Featured Replies

I need some parts for my 72Z V8 converision. I have a complete 6 cyl engine with a set of SU carbs and Hitachi carbs. Auto Transmission can go also. Basically, anything that is on the ngine can go also. I am willing to trade or sell anything off of it. Runs good. I need to find a rear end for my conversion if anyone is interested in selling or trading. I have more Z parts..... Just ask. Thanks. I will sell cheap BTW. My email address is mwoodruff@inchord.com

What head casting is on the engine? I'm looking for E31. Are the carbs three or four bolt? What is the intake manifold casting number? I'm also interested in an R180 with 3.7 or 3.9 gears.

Thanks,

Rick

hmsports,

First off, there are three E31 heads for sale here for about $150.00 each.

Secondly, do you know how to tell the ratio of an installed R180?

TOP SECRETE INFO: ;)

Early model Subaru's also had R180's.

Without looking, I can tell you it is out of a 72 240Z.... Not quite sure what they came with. I can sell it to you cheaper than 150... Also have a head off a 78 280Z if you would like that.

Zed,

Thanks for the line on the three E31s!

To check the ratio of an installed rear, jack the car up and support it safely.

Put a mark on the rear flange of the driveshaft then have someone turn a rear wheel one revolution. Count how many times the driveshaft goes past your mark. You have to kind of guess-timate from here. If it is just under 4 times, you probably have a 3.9 - if it's 3 3/4, then is a 3.7, over 4, then a 4.11, less than 3 1/2 - 3.3 - right at 3 1/2, its a 3.5 (I can never remember the corect hundredths place decimal - sorry)

I had a line of a Subaru with an R180 with a 3.7 in it - the lady (term used losely here) who runs the junk yard hauled it before I got back from the bank.

Thanks, I was hoping that there would be some sort of label like the Subaru puts on their Diff's.

Today, I spent a few hours in a "U-Pull-It" looking for a R200 LSD without luck. Out of curiosity I looked at a couple subaru's, and both had R180's. and both had ratio labels. Nice of 'em to do that.

Did Subaru's ever have R200? or better yet, LSD R200?

I'm not for certain but I'm sure that if they didn't bolt right up, the swap from a 240 R180 would be easy. I know the R180 from the front of a Nissan 4x4 requires the flanges swapped from a 240 R180.
