Moustache Bar for "Fix"?

Featured Replies

Does this moustache bar look like the appropriate one to fix the alignment problem on the series 1 Z?

Thanks!

Using some 'forensics' the bar you've pictured is for a 12/74 and up 280Z. I'm pretty sure you can use that one but hopfully someone who has actually done the 'fix' will chime in here.

Thanks, Stephen.

In addition to the correct moustache bar, what other parts should I get for the "fix"? I understand I need different mounts as well?

That looks like an R200 moustche bar to me.

You should probably get a cureved transvers link bar too.

Some homework reading for you:

If it is an R200 moustache bar, will it not work or do I need a specific R180 moustache bar that is post-1971?

A R200 mustache bar will not fit a R180 because the R200

has wider bolt spacing on the rear cover. The correct R180

mustache bar sit just in front of the 2 vertical risers and the

R200 mustache bar sits just behind the vertical risers. You will

also need the curved transverse link brace.

Anyone out there have the correct R180 moustache bar and curved transverse link brace for the differential mounting "fix" they want to part with?:ermm:

The series 1 Z has the differential mounted slightly forward and it causes stress on the half shafts, as well as potential vibration and noise. I believe that anything after 1971 does not have the problem.
