280 running rough

Yes, it seems to be resolved for now and running well. Other issues are still revelent, but the simple fix did the trick. Thanks for your assistance.

I had a problem with mine the other day. After I got some gas in, it wouldn't start, until I let it sit for a couple minutes ( while checking the connections.) It started up and is fine so far, but I'm going to look over the sensor connections again.

BTW- I put on all new connectors over the winter, except for the TPS one, but I'll get to that soon.

Use a Volvo TPS connector if you can find one. They're quick release like the Volvo and BMW injector/sensor connectors.

I got a whole fuel injection harness from a BMW, and it had several connectors on it to fit the TPS. All the connectors were the quick-release type. The color of the connectors even matched the corresponding injector or the sensor :)

Only one? I've picked up several BMW and Volvo fuel injection harnesses over the years. Thought about swapping the entire BMW or Volvo harness on to the Z or 810 but it's easier to just do the individual connectors. The color match thing doesn't mean anything to me. I've done both of my cars, sold a few sets of connectors and kept a few for backup. I actually prefer the Volvo connectors over the BMW connectors.

One complete BMW fuel injection harness was enough for me. It had enough connectors to do several Z engines. Inly 25 bux from vinesauto (www.vinesauto.com)

Just an update on my running rough-

I replaced the cracked rubber diaphram from the vapor can, the local Nissan Dealer had it for $5. My car runs a whole lot better now, but still periodically not as smooth as it should be. I think I may have a fuel pump starting to fail. I've noticed that my vehicle has a real tough time running smoothly when the tank is less than 1/3 full. I'm going to check this theory a little more, but I'm pretty sure my 31 year old fuel pump is on its way out. I have not done a fuel pressure test yet, but I'm going to try that next.

Water temp sensor tested ok. I cleaned the connections there, and found my thermostat housing is leaking a bit between the housing and the engine. I have the new gasket, but it looks like its going to be a total b***h pulling it off, cleaning it up, and replacing it.

Be very careful removing that housing. Those bolts break easily. Especially the ones that go into the head.
