May 19, 200618 yr comment_167966 ha ha funny this topic should come up.. On my what is now parts car I started to sand on the rear fenders and all I was getting was bondo after ALOT of sanding I got made and took the big arse die grinder to it, it turned out that the wheel arches had been totally cut out and replaced with just bondo. There was no metal at all for wheel arches just bondo on top of bondo on top of bondo. In some places there was over an inch of bondo. talk about a kick in the head!!! and the guy I bought it from said it was a solid car. LIAR!!! little did he know that car that I bought for $400, well I sold the carbs alone and got that, ha, i'm temped to call him and tell him that!!! May 19, 200618 yr comment_167988 So due to the damage on my quarterpanel and door should I just replace them or what. IanI would!!! thats what I ended up deciding. I replaced both rear fenders, quarters, rockers, floors, and front frame rails. I figured if I'm doing it i might as well do it right and not worry about it then! May 20, 200618 yr comment_168077 Bondo is only temporary Ian. It will fall offI don't call thirty years temporary. But, this product like all others has to be used as it was designed. It can not be used as a metal replacement. There must be a backing for it. It also has to be completely sealed from all moisture sources. id just like to get my rust fixedI think we are all here at some point.
