KYB Strut Boots

Featured Replies

I've got these to go with the KYB GR-2's that I'll be using with ST Springs. The boots look a little fat for the springs, they touch the springs on the inside. Any suggestions.....

Shouldn't be a problem, other than scuffing the appearance of the boots.

I bought the same boots for my Tokico springs. It's a pretty tight fit. I haven't actually mounted them yet on the car yet and I'm not sure what to do with the front since it rotates and you can't clamp the bottom portion down.

One option is just don't use them. The struts have a dust seal in them and the boots aren't necessary and just look clunky IMO.

I've just encountered the same problem on the 65 ID coil over kit I had fitted, the suspension guys couldn't get any boots to fit and said the same thing as jmortensen, but as this car might see some dirt I picked up motor bike fork gators at a wreckers for $8 pr fit excellent.

Well that was a waste of $$$. Anyone with a leter model need a set of boots with built in bump stops? I don't think this is an issue for later models.

I may go with your suggestion jmort. When the car is * cough * uh * cough cough * finished...I don't plan on driving it in the rain and it's not going to be a daily driver so I may just put 'em on ebay at some point...
