Amp/Fuel guage removal Help

Featured Replies

This is probably an easy one.

I am trying to remove my Amp/fuel guage. The temp. guage came out easy. All I had to do was un-plug the pigtail and light wire and it was off.

The fuel guage seems to have two additional leads connected to it. They are comming from a wire harness under the dash. Both have a right angle rubber nipple over them.

How do I get these off?

If I pry the rubber nipple back, I can see little brass nuts. Do I indo the nuts, or do these plugs simply pull off like the light does?

Thanks,

Mark

You have to remove the nuts.

WARNING!! One of those wires goes straight to the battery. Make certain you have disconnected the battery before you start.

Thanks.

I disconnected the battery before I even put my hands under the dash.

It is amazing how many un-used wires are under there.
