Hi, I am restoring my Z to the last bolt, so I am in process of painting it. My question is; what is the stock oem color (number) fir the air filter cover?

Not sure, there were two colors. Orange and light blue. Mine has the blue air cleaner. I'm kinda glad, it's a nice contrast to the orange paint on the car :classic:

cool never seen a blue one, mines orange but from time to time I dont no if its light or fade away, do judges look for the exact color in a oem class?

I dont know about judges but I have been told that Chrisler orange is either right on or vary close . Mine is blue.

not exact, but you can use chevy orange (sbc color) or use my datsun's color, Red 110...most custom paint places will mix it for you...look in my gallery, there are some engine pictures showing the fender and my air cleaner, real close, red 110.

Actually I didn't see a good picture in my gallery...I'll go take a pic after work tonight and post it for you.

dont use chrylser orange. I used it on my air cleaner box and it was off pretty badly.

I have light blue, but no clue about the number:(

here's a picture of the air cleaner and my 240's fender, which is red 110...it's an original color..it's not an exact match, but is real real close.

well, blue was for the 280Z, i dont know f u have so or 240! so be careful about it;)

I think the 73 240z had the blue air cleaner cover..I think the 70-72 had the orange. Could be wrong though...

My '73 had orange. I think all 240z's air boxes were orange unless someone knows for sure who bought the car when it was new with a blue air cleaner.
