D head bolts

Featured Replies

The lable came off of the bag containing these 4 bolts with a D shaped head. Can anyone help with where they go. Thanks, Skip

Never seen bolts with heads like that on any of my 240Z's, but the idea makes sense.

Thanks for the input. These bolts came off of my early 260z. I went though my FSM and CD and cannot find any reference around the driveshaft/r200 area.

They may be from a ZX. I pulled a few 5 speeds lately from the JY and make sure and take these with me as I like them better than what was on my 240. Plus the nuts eventually get rounded off because they are hard to get a wrench on (yours are headed that way) and they are certainly a better grade and fit than what you can buy as replacements at the hardware store.

They do look just like the drive shaft to diff bolts from my '78 280Z.

I am wondering if they came off of the ZX that I pulled the r200 out of? Thanks for your help.

Hmmm, now I'm annoyed that I bought OEM 240Z D/S bolts, nuts, and washers on eBay a few months ago. I'll have to add those bolts/nuts to my JY shopping list.

My '78 280Z does, of course have an R200, and it is a very late build date - so I have found that some things on the car were early adoptions for the oncoming 280ZX's. I don't have any earlier 280Z stuff to compare to.
