1966 Bluebird on eBay

Featured Replies

Probably just a L16 from a later model 1600...

There's an old Bluebird in Brisbane for $250 too Rob - did you see that? Or is it sold already... ad said "thousands spent"

Neither the R1600 or the L1600 can come close to fitting under the 320 bonnet. I have seen 1 very chopped up 320 pickup with the firewall moved back to fit an R1600. but it wasn't pretty. Refitting with the "J" motor is fairly common. That's what you've got Steve? J1500? Some are going with the MGB Motor Blastpheme!

I have a J16 but they're talking about a vehicle based on the 410/411 aren't they?

EDIT: After thinking about it, I don't think the 410/411 came out until 64.

So it must be a 320 based 'ute'.

the engine number starts with J16 / R16 or something 16

the 250 Bluebird 312 is already sold same people selling the ute

I believe that the 'R' engine didn't show up until 1966

Not in bluebirds maybe, but the R engine was in production in 1965 and was fitted to the Silvia.
