Looking for a windscreen wiper part

Featured Replies

I'm looking for this little stainless steel part for my windscreen wipers. The other day I took them both off to polish them. However, some of the little parts are pretty bad after 30 years. After a good polish they came out well though.

However, there's one bit that's bugging me with its dirtiness. Have a look at the picture. I was wondering, is there anywhere I can buy these new (not a generic hardware store one), or has anyone got a good clean one spare they could part with?

Lachlan, I did this to my wipers on my HK wagon back in 78. Looks great but after two weeks I painted them black to stop the sun glare. Hope it works out better for you.

Alan, I thought of that, but I polished the wipers on my Z too (or at least I think I did.. im getting old!) and never had that problem. Hopefully the angle of the wipers on the K are similar so that I dont get the glare... :bunny:

Craig, I used a brand called Autosol Metal Polish. Comes in a 250mL white bottle. It's really great stuff IMO, I cant stop polishing things........ ROFL

I bet this was answered before, but Icouldn't find a good match on a search, or used the wrong search words....

Can you repain or recoat the wiper arms after the black coating starts chipping off?

thx.
