I have a 73 240z and was wondering if any one knew if the car came originaly with the diamond shaped vinyl around the transmission tunnel, or was it carpet like mine? I've seen the diamond shaped ones around the tunnel and think it looks better but would like to know whats factory. Thanks again

As far as i know they came out standard with the diamond-vinyl on the tunnel. My car definantely has it still on the tunnel, and I am sure it is factory.

Can anyone correct me if i am wrong? I am 99% sure they DIDNT come out with carpeted tunnels.

Mine has the original diamond pattern too. I bought the car from the original owner and he stated that he had never replaced any of the interior.

Diamond vinyl was original.

My first Z was white with red interior. Numerous Cleveland winters got the best of the body but I stripped out what I could. Threw it all out when I moved to Phoenix. :cry: What a bone head. Even had the Datsun competition suspension. Still have the Bob Sharp sway bars though!:D
