what do you call the rubber mount that holds the strut that has 3 bolts. this is not really my question.

my question really is....

do these rubber(strut mount) are of equal height front(strut) and back(strut) ?

Those are the strut mount insulators. They are the same front and back. Only difference when assembled is the front ones have a bearing, the rears do not.

thanks, i ask the question 'coz i have a double height one that i got from the wrecking yard, and it confuses me which is which.

The "bump stops" varied in height over the years and between 240 and 260Z's

Could you cut some off the isolator to lower the body, or do you have to use those special isolators that were made shorter? It looks like a set of the shorter isolators and lowering spring should get you about 2 inches lower...
