240Z power antenna
Has anyone ever tried using the stock 280ZX antenna? I did a search and found no discussions on its compatability or ease/difficulty of installation. Any thoughts out there?

$150,000 for a 10th Anniversary Z!!!
I believe the two AEs Carl mentions are the same ones once owned by the owner of the now defunct North Freeway Datsun dealership here in Houston. He kept them on the showroom for many years and then in storage after the dealership went out of business. The zclub of houston held several concours events there and we always admired their pristine condition and low miles. (The miles then were 30 something for one and 50+ for the other!)

rebuild myself or find someone in houston
I'd suggest Awesome Z. Get ahold of Doug Bakke and talk to him about what you would like done. Doug worked many years as one of only two Certified Nissan Master Technicians in the City of Houston and he knows his stuff. Z world IMO are more like shade tree mechanics. (not professionally trained)

How to tell if a 240Z is really in Pristine Condition
Yeah, I saw that car about 1 1/2 months ago. It's actually a 1st Gen 300ZX and not a 280ZX. Not worth it IMO.

I've gotta agree with 240ZGL. I drove a 240 with the dealer installed AC for 15 years here in Houston. Even totally rebuilt and upgraded, it barely kept you cool. You won't be happy driving it back and forth to school. While, good low milage ones are getting harder to find, they are nowhere near as hard as finding a good rust free 240Z. (if it exists! )

Howdy Royal.... Where are you located in Houston. I live in S.W. Hou. and if you or the 7k car are somewhat nearby, I'd be happy to go check it out with you. PM me if you're interested.

Upper Heater Hose
Just another thought. Check and see if you have access to the heater control valve (what the heater hose clamps on to). If you do, you might be able to remove it from the heater core and be able to pull it down for better access. You may have to cut the hose first. Good luck.

First Post-I need advice
Hi and welcome! That's a shame, looks like you had a really nice ride. If a body shop just can't straighten that frame, get your tools out and strip that mother. You've got a gold mine in parts. Oops....Forgot about your question. Some will fit but I'm sure others won't. Couldn't say which, as I'm not real familiar with the 280. Personally, I wouldn't waste those parts on a 280 shell. It looks like you've got another Series 1 and you could possibly use some of them on that one. If not, I'd look for another 70 or like I said you could always sell the parts. Lots of members here always needing what you've got. Good luck.

URGENT: Which tires? Bridgestones or Yokohamas?
Yeah, just send me the $44 and get yourself a rare harness cover!
-
Will this work for the wheels?
I agree whole heartedly. I won't touch any wheel that's a pain in the a$$ to wash much less polish! Turbine, honeycomb and those damn wheels with the tight criss-cross patterns are just a few that suck to clean. I don't care how good they look, I won't mess with them!

Where can I find an original harness cover?
It's 7.5" tall x 9" wide. Don't know, still not sure of it's value.

What is this?
Not sure how they were secured on the early consoles but on my 72 it lay on top of the tranny tunnel under the console with the small canvas section facing the rear. The two nylon loops hung out from under the console (one on each side) and seatbelt was fed thru loop. The hole in the canvas is where the single screw in the middle of the console goes thru to keep the straps secure.
-
What is this?
They're seatbelt straps to keep the driver and passenger side seatbelts (next to the trans tunnel) from falling between the seats and tunnel. It mounted under your console using (I believe) the center screw that holds the console down. Most people took them off. Didn't see many in the junk yards, so they may be somewhat rare like hubcaps. ....opps....I forgot to tell you, the bottom of the " V " shape faces the rear of the vehicle

'70 Rust-Free Arizona Z Going Cheap!
Maybe not, but now that you own #913 (and we all saw the condition that one was in ) I don't see how you could possibly pass up the plethora of "donor organs" this vehicle could provide. Of course that all depends on how cheap you could get it. There just might be a bid battle near the end and let's not forget a road trip that definitely will not be cheap.

Bondomobile
My 72 was easy to remember: HLS30097001. I sold it to a lady who gave it to her son and is now owned by a member of the Zclub of houston. He put on a new roof skin to replace the sunroof it had when I bought it, did the interior in leather and it continues to win awards at the International Car Show held here every fall. So I get to see my old baby once a year.
