Sac caravan moved to 11am due to a large amount of sac Z's coming.

Another update for those coming, there is going to be a Sacramento caravan at the Chevron Station in West Sac off 80 on West Capitol leaving at 11:30 for the meet posted above. CB radio channel 13. There will be a variety of new and Classic Z's going to this spot so enjoy the ride up together.

I originally got interested in Z's with the purchase of my 90 300zx, as I went to Z meets/shows I fell in love with the 240z and 280z(s30 body). I can tell you guys that the owners of z32's absolutely love the s30's from the website I use(twinturbo.net), some hate when I show a pic of mine(75 280Z) b/c they want one. Also my dad has a 350z and he actually likes both the z32 and s30 better, he says to much chessy plastic in the 350z he even is thinkin of selling it and putting money in the 280z(1/2 mine, 1/2 his). So what do you old school Z owners think of all the 84+ Z's? I know some of you are like me and own more then one, so whats your opinion on each. Sorry I am just bored and thought I would start a topic, probably already started in the past.

Please note speeding and racing the car are different, you can speed safely but if your racing its different it wears the 30+year old motor more then cruising at a high speed. I enjoy "speeding" sometimes, but never race to that speed or at that speed. I see nothing wrong with speeding on that empty road(assuming its empty) as long as you have control if something were to happen. Just speed safe is what I always go by.

Thanks but like I said the squegee and chrome are like new, I just wonder if a new run channel will make a difference. I am honestley thinking of shoving something between the glass and inside trim to push the glass out so its against the the squegee, if new fuzz/felt doesn't also help.

I bought her this summer, washed it about 5 times, 2nd time I found the only leak it has. Drip molding/squegee, glass doesn't sit flush next to it, it has a small gap that I found water get through. My method until I make the fix has been tape, so I have a few ?'s for the experts. Before I ask I will describe 2 things for ya, the fuzz/filt is a little worn on top of the interior door panel and the run channel is worn out, I will replace both. The squegee looks like new but is just not making contact with the glass, I pushed the rollers out like I found when I did a search but it did nothing much, so I guess my ? is would a new run channel and filt strip make that gap go away? Also since it hasn't sat through a period of rain in my ownership what should I look for in terms of leaks? As for now I will use tape as seen in the pic.

No this game never made it here at all, it was based on japanese animation characters, they used the same highways as tokyo extreme but only used about 15 cars in this game. Doesn't matter b/c outside of the intro the game sucked. If I didn't have 56k I would download it for you guys to see it's worth it.

There is actually a video game with the main character having a 240z in japan, I got it for the japan ps2 its called Wangan Midnight, japanese animation combined with tokyo highway race games. Amazing opening video with a zoom in on the engine(240z w/L28turbo) reving up, but the game is bad. The pic below has a small shot of the cover.

Wow you guys are dwelling on the wrong stuff, I say they did a great job at making the car look great on tv, if it was a movie I would be posting on what was wrong but overall I was pleased. The fact that they basically said we are all jocks that cant get laid so we buy this fancy sports cars to make us feel "larger" down below and use it to make up for our lack of confidence to approach a chick is what made me laugh, they burned us with that, but that can be applied to any sports car. Before you comment I am not agreeing with what they said I just thought it was funny b/c I always thought of american muscle cars to fit what they described as a typical Z driver. One more thing, unless they have a Z every week I think im done with that show, the Z was the star.

Engine code is below 6th spark plug, at least on my 75 280z. The motor # was on the fender tag for mine, I dont know if they changed it with the body in 78 though.

I know exactly who you are cozy z cole, I meet you at the travis afb meet earlier this year. I took the white 300zx in the pic above, and talked to you a little bit. I just got my 280z about a month ago its half mine half my dads, something to work on together and drive for fun, he also has a 350z but is selling it. We may have a meet in vacaville at the end of oct. if all goes as planned so I'll send you a PM when that is official. BTW this Sunday there is going to be about 150 mostly 350z but some other Z's including mine going to treasure island around noon if you want to check that out. Im probably traveling with a group of about 30 from sac.

Nope, 14's, at the time I couldn't find gunmetal in 15's only silver and like a week later I saw a set of 15's, sucks but for $360 a set I wont complain it looks good to me.

I took some pics w/the rewinds on the 280z and my 300zx with it. Im still new to the datsun Z culture, but this car is proof that it was the best of its era and still can look good next a z32 which is still my favorite. The 280z is closing fast on the z32 in my eyes, but without the z32 I would have never though about buying a 280z, it introduced me to the Z life(as I call it since it consumes mine).Enjoy, nothing spectacular in terms of views or angles just some quick pics. Thanks for advise, I did use nissan factory plugs/wires(ngk) but the previous owner did the fuel filter, cap and rotor so that may be the problem, I just need to do a valve adjustment one weekend to see if it runs better at low rpms when warm. Thanks again

Glad to see a new owner, first advice spray it with water winter is coming make sure your Z is ready for rain. I bought my Z this summer and found I needed a new drip molding, found a little water getting in the door. Good luck and get that nismo sticker off the hood please.

I have had no solution, probably going to clean every thing I can take off vacuum related and replace what looks bad at this point. I dont mind having to idle at 1000-1100 for now, runs smooth there, I do hope when I get to the valve adjustment it solves my problems.

Yea, they told me not to "commute" in it, but I only do it 2 days a week mostly b/c I wash and wax it every week at work and want to give it a good drive every couple of days. If I get in an accident, I was simply taking it to work to clean it for a show. The insurance company didn't seem to care what I was doing with it just as long as I keep the miles below the limit, if anything its safer at work then in my drive way at home. BTW my advice is to keep it somehow, my dad has a photo album of his old cars that I look at when I think of selling my any of my Z's, lets just say he almost cries when he looks at them and watches barrett-jackson to see how much some sell for today. If you know who your selling it to will take care of it and possibly sell it back to you one day that may be different but just keep it, you only live life once(as far as I know).
