Rear window weatherstripping & molding question
I had the same problem when I replaced the hatch window weather strip. I bet I worked that corner piece for over an hour. I did finally get it to stay in, I had to bend the ends down a little bit in order for it to stay in the grove. Patience is definately a virtue. As far as replaceing the window weather stripping, I agree with 2Many. Mine was so dry and cracked it leaked really bad when I bought the car, along with the hatch and doors.

New Door Seals don't work!
I had the same problem with the complete kit I received from VB. After time the doors do eventually start to close better. But it is a a pain having to slam the door time and time again at first to get it closed flush.

Car will not start, PLEASE HELP
I had the same problem when I had a automatic 260Z some 20 years ago. Had to ju8mp the terminals on the starter solenoid in order to get it started. Did this for about 4 months until I left for the Navy. That was a real pain, especially when it was below zero temperatures, drained many batteries.

installing rear shoes
Just did mine last weekend, 1st time doing drums. Really easy compared to the front disks since those you have to disconnect the break lines and rebleed.

Just ordered a complete set of brake pads and stainless steel lines this morning from MSA and it run around $120. Didn't like the fact that I had to pump the brakes to stop, and yes I did bleed them out. I figured the hoses were going bad!!!!!!!!!!

Introduce yourself to the class?
I'm Dave and I live in North Dakota, yes there is more then one person that lives here. I bought my first Z when I was 17, way back in 1981. What a life it was to be a senior in High School and able to cruise around in a 260Z. Went into the Navy 2 weeks after I graduated and said goodbye to the 260 but not to my love of the car. I've been in the Navy for the last 19+ years and have always looked for another Z. Finally found one when I moved back home to do the recruiting thing for the Navy. It's a 1972 240Z. The guy originally wanted $2600 for it but I held out for 3 months until he lowered the price to $1200, (wanted to buy a riding lawnmower). His lose my gain. It is a daily driver when the weather is decent. Waiting till I retire in 2 years before I start to really tear into it. Of course I'll have to find another one to drive when it's down. Waited to long for another Z to not be able to drive one when I want.

Window/Door Rubber Seal Kits..which one?
I ordered the complete set from V.B. Only really needed the 2 doors and the back hatch, but getting the complete set was cheaper in the long run. Didn't see that offered through MSA, might have just overlooked it. The ones for the doors are a bit thicker then the originals. I thought that it was because the old ones were compressed from almost 30 years of use. So now the doors have to be closed with some extra force, it does seem to be getting better. Careful with the glue, you overdo it and it can get messy. Have fun.

Vehicle Scrappage Program
This was sent to me by Summit Racing. This would be a terrable thing to happen. Your hobby is in danger! Proposed U.S. government legislation, U.S. Senate Bill S.1766, would allocate federal funds for state scrappage programs for vehicles more than 15 years old. In the process, it could threaten the very existence of our hobby by: *Destroying 1960s and 70s era musclecars *Scrapping 1980s performance vehicles like Mustangs, Camaros, and Corvettes *Eliminating many non-performance vehicles which provide an invaluable parts source Take a stand for your rights--and your hobby--by letting your U.S. Senator know how this bill will directly affect you. Log onto our website at http://www.SummitRacing.com for a copy of our Legislator Letter, which you can print, sign, and mail to your Senator. Then, go to http://www.enjoythedrive.com/san for a complete list of legislator names and addresses, plus additional information on U.S. Senate Bill S.1766. Act now--your hobby may depend on it!

Oil Pressure Drop
I have a 72 240Z and recently I've noticed that the oil pressure drops down to around 10-15 lbs at idle, then goes up to 30-35 while on the hiway:mad: I know this isn't normal, I've been told that it could be the bearings. What do the Z experts think, and is it safe to drive as long as I'm getting some kind of pressure.
