Enrique - thanks for the info, I am very certain that the keys are gone, I turned the house upside down yesterday looking for them, and could find them anywhere. I know from before that all of the locks on my Z are the same, the core in the glove box will be very easy to get to, I'll post my results in a few days, either success, or failure. Thanks, Greg
Hello All, The Z has been parked for the last few months, and I was going to bring it into the garage for some TLC this weekend, I went to grab the keys and they're not there. The car is unlocked in the driveway so I can get into it, but I need to know what I can to do to go about having new keys made. I saw a post on this forum, about getting a code number off of a door lock cylinder and taking it to a locksmith to get new keys made. Is this what I should do or is there another way? I'm in San Jose CA if anyone can recommend a locksmith that they have used with success. Thanks for any assistance you can provide. Greg Becker '72 240Z white/Red
You'll wanna make sure that your water is flowing too. Make sure that you get a temp reading, and that you are getting oil pressure when you do fire it up. The previous replies are a great list of to-do's. In my case I wanted to make sure that the engine would at least run, and old gas was my biggest problem. After I remedied that everything was cool. Now that my car is running the valve job and timing is on the list for tonite. Then to re-adjusting the carbs, since that is the order to do things in. Good luck, Greg
Hey Guys, I really hope that I'll be able to make it, it will be my first meet when actually owning a Z. I am in the process of swapping the motor in my Z, while I rebuild the original motor, my current plan is to have it ready by the end of July, just in time for the meet. We'll see how it goes. Hope to make it and meet some Bay Area Z owners. Greg Becker '72 240 - soon to have a L26 while the L24 gets rebuilt
